There are four time trials that pit Bayek against set times. These times are represented in the race by ghost chariots labeled Easy, Medium, and Hard. Defeat them all to win the race and unlock the next time trial. Unlike the tournaments, these races are all about speed and how you handle the turns. Without opposition, you cannot rely on knocking the opposition around or drafting in a rival’s slipstream.

Use these races to perfect your turns, drifting throughout the turn while staying on the dark path. Learning how best to take the hairpin turns goes a long way in the tournaments.

Race I

Rotation: Clockwise

Laps: 3

Difficulty TIME TO BEAT

Easy

1:44.49

Medium

1:40.49

Hard

1:37.34

The first race is very basic, with only a crashed chariot on the course. The race runs clockwise, so it is all about the right turns.

Race II

Rotation: Counterclockwise

Laps: 3

Difficulty TIME TO BEAT

Easy

1:44.08

Medium

1:41.41

Hard

1:37.91

For the second time trial, statues have been added to the course, which runs counterclockwise. While three sit across the halfway point of each straightaway, only the middle gets in the way. Stick as close to it as possible to remain on the dark path. Statues also sit on the outside of the first turn, but as long as you cut the corner well, they are not an issue.

Race III

Rotation: Clockwise

Laps: 4

Difficulty TIME TO BEAT

Easy

2:16.45

Medium

2:13.19

Hard

2:11.32

The third time trial returns to the clockwise route, but the race is increased to four laps. It also adds a bunch of pillars and statues to the track. Watch out for an obstacle near the beginning of both straightaways. Keep to the inside track, but if you do drift to the outside, return to the inside track, as the dark section connects in the middle of each stretch.

Race IV

Rotation: Counterclockwise

Laps: 5

Difficulty TIME TO BEAT

Easy

2:50.74

Medium

2:46.46

Hard

2:44.56

Three braziers have been placed along the front and back stretches with the ground on fire between them, creating well-trodden paths to the inside and outside. Each of these braziers shoots fire that alternates between the inside and outside tracks. Remember to boost when your chariot catches on fire to extinguish it. Between the second and third braziers there is a small gap that can be used to switch lanes if you notice the next fire switch to your side.

Don’t exit out of the second turn too wide, as a flaming scaffolding provides another opportunity to take on fire. Watch out for a second scaffolding that sits on the outside middle of the back stretch and a third on the inside, just after turn 1.

This race is increased to five laps, adding to the challenge of the fire. Taking on fire too many times takes its toll, so keep your eyes on the braziers ahead. To limit the damage taken from the fire, take the inside of the inside lane or the outside of the outside lane—keeping two horses in the dark and two in the light areas of the dirt.
