Assassin's Creed Origins eGuide Side Quests Kanopos Nome Side Quests

The Hungry River

Prerequisite: Discover Kanopos Nome

Suggested Level: 14

Reward: 1,500 XP

Bring the Dead Back to the Cart

A farmer asks Bayek for help collecting the dead.

Use Senu to mark the four dead bodies in the field to the south near the river full of hungry hippos. You can find arrows at Apollodorus’s Estate (2).

We suggest taking out all the hippos first to reap the rewards of their hard leather crafting materials. Higher ground is always a good escape plan if needed—hippos don’t climb walls.

After you kill all the hippos, pick up each body and drop it at the cart near the farmer (1). The farmer is looking for his protector, Meketre. After laying all four bodies at the cart, the farmer tells you that none of them are his son.

Speak to the Farmer

Speak to the farmer. He’ll tell you that Meketre would keep them safe from the bandits to the north.

Find and Rescue Meketre in the Canyon Bandits’ Camp

Sap-Meh Nome has yet to be discovered. This is where the bandit camp is located. Ride toward the marker. Take a detour to synchronize the nearby Viewpoint (3). Check the world map to see more side quests appear in the area (In Protest, Thick Skin, Fair Trade) and another to the west, still in the fog (Abuse of Power). This is the direction we’ll be headed in the side quest section.

Potamos Hideout

Prerequisite: Approach the Hideout

Suggested Level: 13

Location Reward: 400 XP

Location Objectives: Kill one captain, loot one treasure

Send Senu up to locate Potamos Hideout (4) and mark all the enemies within. You have the higher ground all around their crevasse hideout. Remove the bandits along the northern creek exit (5). Use the high ground and put arrows in them from above.

There are plenty of haystacks around the camp to hide in and shoot arrows from (or lure bandits to you). From the rock pillar (6) you can jump into two different haystacks at different levels. Haystack (7) is also a great place to start eliminating the bandits in the main base area. There’s an arrow supply next to it, making it easy to replenish and get back to cover.

Work your way around the base, along the high ledges, eliminating the bandits and their captain below. Loot the treasure (8) and free Meketre from his cage (9). Read the note posted on the beam (10). It points you to the smuggler’s dock treasure (11) behind a tree in the water and next to a fallen tree in the water. This wouldn’t be a bad place to raid after leaving this hideout.

Defend then Speak to Meketre

If you eliminated every bandit in the camp, then defending Meketre after busting him out of prison is easy. There’ll be no resistance. Loot everything in the camp, replenish your arrows, and then find and talk to Meketre (11) at the southeast exit. He wants you to help him save everyone.

Kill All the Bandits at Meketre’s Village

Race to the marker in the east (13) to find Meketre’s village. Fly Senu over to mark the enemies and to assess the situation. There are around eight Level 12 to 14 bandits raiding the village. Race in and slaughter them using your most damaging weapons.

Speak to Meketre

Follow the marker to speak with Meketre in the village. After stroking each other’s ego, the quest ends successfully.
