Assassin's Creed Origins Guide › Side Quests › Memphis Side Quests

A Dream of Ashes

Prerequisite: Unlocks during Main Quest: The Lizard’s Mask

Suggested Level: 21

REWARDS: 2,500 XP

Talk to the Seer

This quest unlocks during Main Quest: The Lizard’s Mask. As soon as you leave the Seer (1) and meet Aya outside, walk right back in and take this quest. Aya will now fight with you for a little while.

Find the Seer’s Clients and Bring Them the Amulets

Use Senu to locate the three targets: (2), (3), and (4). We suggest heading to the beggar first, as he is the closest.

Omorfi Villa

Prerequisite: Approach the villa

Suggested Level: 20

Location Reward: 300 XP

Location Objectives: Loot one treasure

You’ll most likely approach this villa from the south road. Duck into the bushes to hide from the soldier patrolling the upstairs room. He could spot you from the balcony (6). Put an arrow in his face and then look below; take out any other lone soldiers down there. Leap to the balcony and enter the villa.

Head to the stairs and wait to see if a patrolling solder enters the house. If so, lure him up the stairs and assassinate him from around the corner on the landing. Raid the treasure on the first floor to complete the location objective.

Defeat any soldiers around the prisoner (2) that could spot you. Also make sure there are no soldiers near the escape route—the south gate (7). Now free the beggar.

Escort the Beggar out of the Villa

Walk the beggar through the east gate (7) and out to the street.

Give the Amulet to the Beggar

Speak to the beggar to give him the amulet of protection.

Rescue the Adventurer

Head west to the ruins (3), where Nomad’s Bazaar is located. Drop down into the pit behind the pillars and follow the dark tunnel with a lit torch. Vault over a tree root and then climb a cave wall to reach the chamber under the Temple of Ptah. A handful of soldiers are here.

Lure the soldiers up into the tunnel to defeat them or just jump down into the ruins and have a good brawl. Loot the treasure.

Look for a tunnel exit to the north beyond the candlelit dais. Light a torch and enter that tunnel.

When you reach the edge of the path where the water begins, there’s a small ledge to the left. Drop onto that ledge. Follow it around until you spot a crack large enough to fit through.

Follow the tunnel to an open cave chamber, where you find cobras and the dead adventurer. Give the amulet to the adventurer and leave the tunnel system the way you came or by continuing to head north.

Rescue the Philanderer

The philanderer (4) is being moved in a prison cart driven by a Roman soldier and closely watched by a team of mounted soldiers. Any soldiers who happen to be on the road when the attack happens join the fight. Fill up on arrows and use your strongest bows; also have the strongest heavy blunt or spear ready for some jousting action.

Cut off the prison cart and take out the driver with some arrows to the head (watch out because he fires arrows too); then leave quickly. Reach an area where you can fight the horseman on your own terms. Raise your shield to block the many arrows that will be flung your way. No one will regain control of the prison cart, so you can return to that when you are ready.

Use sleep darts in this situation to make things easier. When possible, carry the philanderer out of the cart. If no soldiers are nearby, then put her down and give her the amulet. If soldiers are near, carry her around a few corners to lose them and then give her the amulet.

Speak to the Seer at the Docks by the Great Temple

Now ride to the docks near the Memphites Barracks and find the Seer at his boat (8). Speak to him. He wishes you to take him to a sacred island (9) to tear aside the curtain that shrouds your nightmares.

Escort the Seer to the Sacred Island

Use the Seer’s boat to reach the sacred island (9) to the east. Rid the island of the five crocodiles.

Speak to the Seer

Speak to the Seer near the ritual site.

Find the Statue of Khnum

Take a boat south to the Sunken Temple of Ramses (10). Use Senu to pinpoint the statue’s location.

Drive the boat directly over the statue and dive in. There are two treasures below to complete the location objective and earn 450 XP. Use Animus Pulse to locate the treasures and the Statue of Khnum.

Bring the Statue of Khnum to the Seer

Reenter a boat and sail back to the sacred island (9). Talk to the Seer to hand him the statue.

Use Dawn & Dusk beside the Seer to Make the Time Speed Forward and Initiate the Ritual

Stand at the ritual site on the small sacred island and use the Dawn & Dusk skill to change the time of day. After time passes, you discover the Seer is gone, but the quest ends successfully.
