After witnessing the sad breakup of Bayek and Aya on the Alexandria beach, Layla wakes up from the Animus with a man sitting and staring at her. Layla jumps up in shock and threatens him with the wrist blade duct-taped to her arm. William Miles, the assassin, calmly introduces himself and emphasizes his occupation by revealing his own hidden wrist blade.
He tells you that the assassins have been watching her and are curious why an Abstergo employee is taking interest in a country’s revolution. He reminds her of how she was deceived by the company she works for. He offers to get her out of the cave and to Alexandria safely. He also offers her a job with the assassins working on her version of the Animus and doing things her way—giving her an out from under Abstergo. She agrees and reenters the Animus to complete unfished business.
