Medunamun has been installed as the new oracle of Siwa. He is traversing the village, brutally interrogating the inhabitants. Bayek prepares to battle the powerful priest, then tracks him down for assassination.

Medunamun walks around the temple grounds with his two Level 5 bodyguards. Given time, he takes many paths and may even be spotted walking through the city. But if you select the quest and send Senu to the temple to scout, you’ll likely find him starting from his rooftop balcony at his home (7) and then heading to the east yard (8), where he will stop for a while. This gives you time to mount a ride and head into the temple through the west entrance as described in Side Quest: Family Reunion.

Kill the guard at the entrance and climb to the top of the building on your left (3). Continue to the next building with the arrow supply (4). Collect arrows if you need them. Walk across the rope (5) between this building and the temple. Crouch and wait on the temple’s southwest rooftop edge (6) (above the main entrance). Medunamun and his men eventually walk up the stairs and enter the temple below you. If you are Level 4 or higher, you can perform a Stealth Strike here by jumping down on top of him. Confirm the kill and a cinematic begins.

If you miss your opportunity at the temple entrance, wait until he enters the temple. Stand on the edge of the skylight (9) and perform the stealth attack from there. If it is taking too long from him to reach the temple, then find any other high vantage point along his route to attack. Use arrows to eliminate his bodyguards; then kill him with a combination of arrows or a stealth attack jump. Approach Medunamun’s body and press the Interact button to fill the Confirm Kill meter.

After confirming the kill, you enter a cutscene in which Bayek and Medunamun speak in the Animus White Room. Medunamun is angry that you ended his life before he could finish his life’s work—to usher in the perpetual rule of the strong and “virtuous.” He mentions the price of one life a boy paid. That boy was Bayek’s son, which set him off on this journey of assassinations. The cutscene ends by taking you back to the day Medunamun killed Bayek’s son.

Siwa Oasis

One Year Ago

Bayek and his son, Khemu (10), are doing some target practice when Chenzira runs up and asks Khemu to check out a hyena cave. Khemu, not as brave as Chenzira, declines the invitation. Bayek decides to take them on a real hunting expedition.

Bring Khemu to the Ibex Pack

Run north to the hunting area (11). Along the way, Chenzira turns to go home, leaving you and your boy alone. When you get close to the pond, send Senu up to spot the ibex. Crouch down and sneak up to the ibex until you are within range to put an arrow in its heart. If you scare the ibex off, then you’ll have to chase it down and try again.

Find and Get the Ibex Pack Leader’s Pelt

Once the ibex is down, step up to it and claim the pelt.

Reach the Temple of Amun with Khemu

Now run with Khemu southwest to the marker in the distance. Bayek decides to detour to Halma Point to give Khemu a test in bravery. He explains along the way that his father had taken him this way when he was a boy.

Bring Khemu to Halma point

Bayek says his father told him one word that helped him get over fear, and he intends to share this with his son once they reach Halma Point (12). Climb up the side of the hill and walk to the ledge overlooking the lake, standing in the marker.

The word is jump, but standing on the edge of the high cliff has Khemu thinking twice about jumping into the water below. A little frustrated, Bayek allows him to back out of this lesson, citing that he is not yet ready. Just then, Chenzira’s screams are heard. Bayek commands his son to run straight home while he investigates.

You regain control, facing the cave at Halma Point. Pass through the cave to confront the soldiers holding Chenzira captive. Initiate the battle with the soldiers, whose levels are higher than yours. You don’t have to fight if you don’t want to. There’s only one outcome of this battle—you being knocked out. There’s no changing the past.

Follow the Masked Man

You enter the Temple of Amun and are instructed to follow the man in the mask. The man mentions that it is of great importance that they get into the vault.

When you reach your destination on the lower floor, the guards reunite you with your son. Because you are Medjay to the pharaoh, they think you know some key or clue to getting into the vault using the orb in their possession (the same orb you’ve seen Medunamun carrying). They threaten your son to get this information from you. Eventually they take Khemu’s life. All the men in that room are now on your hit list.

Bayek gets kicked in the head and is knocked unconscious. While he is out, he returns to the white room with Medunamun still alive. That is, until you smash his head with his orb, sending him to the next realm where Duat waits. When you return to the “real world,” you are sitting with Hepzefa, telling him you need to get to Alexandria to see Aya, your wife.
