ULTIMATE TECHNIQUES
RIGHT SUPERMAN PUNCH
Level 2 - Both Standing, Striking Range
Swick the “Quick” uses this powerful punch to rock opponents. If your opponent likes to sway away from your jabs and counter, double jab and follow with this or feint a jab and stick him.
RIGHT ROLLING SOBBAT
Level 2 - Both Standing, Striking Range
Swick’s not the strongest, but he’s fast. Counter a charging opponent with this Level 2 kick to mix up the levels and keep your opponent guessing.
SUBMISSION REVERSE TO GUILLOTINE CHOKE
Level 3 - Double Leg Clinch Cage, Defense
This is a superb Level 3 submission reversal that catches your opponent when he drops down for a double-leg at the cage. He wanted to put you on the mat—oblige him with a choke.
STRENGTHS

Aggressive style
Mike “Quick” Swick is pretty decent on his feet, and his 76.5” reach helps to keep opponents at bay. Keep the fight standing, period.
Swick is not a BJJ specialist by any means, and his strength lies in his speed on his feet.
Pop quick-strike left jabs to keep your opponent off of you, and use Muay Thai kicks to rock him.
If your opponent clinches, attempt to shrug him off, or use a minor transition to a Muay Thai Clinch, Offense and throw some crushing knees.
When the fight goes to grappling, use his Level 3 Guillotine Choke, which shows up pretty much any time your opponent’s neck is exposed, and Swick can reverse with it too.
WEAKNESSES
- Ground Game
- Power
- Working in the clinch
Swick is a crafty striker who will come at you fast, but not with a ton of power. He’s long and rangy, so get him on the mat and make him work from his back.
Counter his long punches with a clinch and take him down, then work the ground-and-pound and block his transitions to keep the dominant position on the mat.
Try to get submission. Even if he escapes it and ends up on top, his Ground Top Grapple and Ground Striking ratings are in the 60s, so most guys in the welterweight division will be able to get back to a safe spot.
