ULTIMATE TECHNIQUES
WEAVING OVERHAND RIGHT
Level 2—Both Standing, Striking Range
McGee can land this heavy punch with great force, rocking his opponent in the striking exchange. This is one of his best technique strikes, so try to land it often.
LEFT GUARDED HOOK
Level 2—Both Standing, Striking Range
McGee can quickly close the distance on his opponent with this lunging left hook. He ducks down for an instant before throwing this blow—this can help him slip inbound strikes and land this big hook as a counter.
DIRECT CATCH ARMBAR FROM THE TOP
Level 2—Mount, Top
A well-rounded fighter, McGee can work for a few effective submissions once he moves into dominant ground position. Exhaust his opponent with ground strikes to the body, then lock in this powerful armbar from Mount.
STRENGTHS
- Well rounded
- Heart
- Conditioning
Court “The Crusher” McGee made a name for himself through his respectable actions inside and outside of the cage during his recent stint on The Ultimate Fighter.
He uses his great conditioning and well-rounded skill set to push the pace and pressure his opponent wherever the fight happens to go.
Stay active and keep opponents working to overwhelm them with McGee’s relentless pace.
Try to land body shots on the feet to drain the opponent’s gas tank rather quickly. Shoot for takedowns when his rivals begin to answer back in the stand-up exchanges.
Bring his opponents to the ground with his excellent double leg takedowns, then work to control the top position.
Score points with more ground-and-pound, and see if you can transition to Mount so that he can work his most effective armbars.
WEAKNESSES
- Speed
- Kicks
“The Crusher” is a dangerous and well-rounded fighter, but he lacks dominant skill in any one area of the fight game—exploit this by trying to overwhelm McGee with your fighter’s favorite method of attack.
Beware of his strong takedowns and keep a respectable distance from him at all times, punishing his legs with sharp kicks from the outside to reduce his already sluggish movement speed even further.
Outperform him on the feet with superior footwork and timing, but always remain ready to sprawl against his dangerous takedowns.
He can be controlled on the ground and in the clinch if your fighter specializes in grappling, but “The Crusher” is good at escaping from subs, and must first be softened up before submissions can be effectively applied.
Impose your fighter’s strengths when facing McGee, and look to exploit his lack of mastery in any one particular field of the sport.
