ULTIMATE TECHNIQUES

RIGHT LONG SUPERMAN PUNCH

Level 2 - Both Standing, Striking Range

This excellent technique strike helps “The Outlaw” quickly close in against elusive opponents, and the blow lands with enough force to rock rivals if it lands flush.

RIGHT ROLLING SOBBAT

Level 3 -  Both Standing, Striking Range

Hardy can unleash this fast spinning body kick while moving backward. Use this excellent defensive technique strike to keep aggressive opponents at bay.

LEFT/RIGHT DOWNWARD ARCING ELBOW

Level 2 - Muay Thai Clinch Cage, Offense

Though he prefers to stand and bang, “The Outlaw” is also skilled in striking from the Muay Thai Clinch. Stuff the opponent into the fence to land some vicious technique elbows.

STRENGTHS

  • Heart
  • Speed

Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy is a fast and explosive striker whose heavy hands have helped him find success in the UFC welterweight division.

Keep the fight on the feet with Hardy by using good footwork and quick striking combinations to pepper the opponent with superior boxing on the feet.

He has poor takedown defense and struggles to improve his position when stuck on bottom, so always be ready to stuff the opponent’s takedowns and clinch attempts.

If “The Outlaw” is getting beaten by a superior striker on the feet, he may try his respectable clinch game by grabbing the opponent in the Muay Thai Clinch and landing some heavy elbows.

Clinching puts him closer to being taken down, of course, so only use the position if he’s coming up short in the stand-up battle.

WEAKNESSES

  • Takedown defense
  • Ground grappling

Hardy has been known to rock his opponents with his crisp boxing technique on the feet, but he struggles to fight competitively in most other areas of the fight game, particularly wrestling and ground defense.

Exploit his lack of takedown defense and shoot in for the takedown early and often. Bring him to the mat and pass his amateurish guard so you can better work him over with ground-and-pound, perhaps working to secure a submission.

Hardy can’t threaten with much offense off his back, and he’s vulnerable to ground strikes, so feel free to batter him in any postured-up ground position you like.

Keep him pinned to the mat to exploit a gaping hole in his fight game.
