STRENGTHS
- Aggressive style
- Knockout power
Alessio “Legionarious” Sakara is a high-energy fighter out of Italy who now trains in the American Top Team camp in Coconut Creek, Florida. He is a powerful striker who can push the action.
With a Standing Strikes rating of 87 and Level 2 techniques from standing range, it’s best to try to keep the fight on your feet.
Use his powerful Level 2 head kick and Superman punch to put the hurt on your opponent, and set up those punches with quick flurries of strikes and sways using Sakara’s speed and great movement in the pocket.
Between his striking and his Footwork rating of 86, Sakara can box with the best of them.
If the fight goes to the ground, fight to get on top and rain down big punches from inside your opponent’s guard, but make the referee stand your opponent up if he is a good grappler.
WEAKNESSES
- Wrestling
- Cardio
Sakara is an aggressive fighter, and with that comes defensive shortcomings across the board.
He is going to want to keep the fight a stand-up battle, but he is no better at defending against your stand-up strikes than he is at any other part of the game.
He has better submission defense, but he doesn’t have much in the way of ratings or techniques to scare you with submissions of his own.
The bottom line against him: Fight your fight and play to your fighter’s strengths.
In all cases you must be careful of Sakara’s powerful striking, but he can be beaten up on his feet.
Many middleweights will own the advantage in the wrestling department—it’s Sakara’s weakest area, so take him down, get dominant position, and ground-and-pound.
