STRENGTHS

  • Experience
  • Well rounded

Kyle “KO” Noke is an Aussie fighter who has been around the sport for 10 years and has found his way into Greg Jackson’s camp. He took Submission of the Night honors at UFC 127, and that rear naked choke is an example of how to play when controlling Noke. He is well rounded, but all of his attributes and skills rate in the 70s.

His submission skill set is his real strength, as he can catch submissions easily from guard and in his opponent’s guard, and has the ability to submission switch. Take your opponent to the ground and work some ground striking to set up opportunities for submission.

Against really good jiu-jitsu fighters he may struggle to keep control—or get submitted himself—so clinch up on your feet and work the cage. He is a pretty strong guy, so set the tone by controlling your opponents and making it very difficult for them to execute their game plan.

WEAKNESSES

  • Quickness
  • Power

Kyle Noke’s interesting skill set makes him fun to play as and play against, but his overall rating is just 85. He is a well-rounded fighter, but his lack of speed and good footwork, paired with his mediocre striking, makes the stand-up game difficult against such a talented division of strikers at middleweight.

He’s got some crafty moves on the ground, but if you stay away from his submissions, he is vulnerable to getting dominated with ground-and-pound. From your feet, strike and kick from range, in tight, or in the clinch—wherever your fighter’s strength’s lie.

Again, his submission game is the real worry when putting together your gameplan for Noke. But, if your fighter is strong with submissions, go for it. His 77 Submission rating in defense doesn’t make him invincible by any means.
