Walkthrough Overview
The walkthrough contained within this guide not only provides you with a complete journey across your entire adventure, but also reveals the optimal times to gather all the optional items, chests, hidden prizes, and other goodies! This walkthrough has the advantage of informing you of hundreds of important events. The following list details just some of the major ones:
When you have the first opportunity to visit each area, dungeon, hidden area, side-dungeon, Lantern Cavern, and other major location.
When to collect all 45 Pieces of Heart and 8 Heart Containers, so you can enter later dungeons with excellent energy levels!
When and where to begin (and complete) your collection of all 60 Poe Souls, which allows even more Rupees.
Where every single item in the game, from the Small Key to the Double Clawshot, can be located, and how best to access everything.
How to battle the numerous fiends and beasts that roam and prowl the wild lands, dark dungeons, and misty woodlands of Hyrule!
You’ll also learn when you can purchase, find, fish for, or grab the many super-secret items, including the Magic Armor!
There are two parts to every section in this Walkthrough. The first is the Introduction, which lets you know what to expect in the coming parts of your adventure. Here’s how it all breaks down:
1. Heart Energy Bar: Throughout the entire walkthrough, the optimal number of Hearts you have is shown here. This means you can quickly check to see if you’ve grabbed all the Heart Containers and Pieces of Heart at the earliest possible moment. It also tells you how far you are through your adventure.
2. The Map: The large poster of the Hyrule Overworld reveals the locations of all the major items in the world, but each section’s map delves a little deeper, showing you (in Overworld sections) the major sites of interest and items, and (in dungeons) all the treasure chests, bosses, and other areas of note.
3. The Overview: A quick explanatory paragraph revealing the major accomplishments you must attempt in this section.
4. Denizens: This shows the land of Hyrule’s many friends, fiends, and foes, and specifically shows the new entities you’ll encounter in this section.
5. A Link to the Present: This reveals what your Collection screen should look like if you obtained all the items, objects, and equipment upgrades at the earliest possible moment. Compare this to your Collection screen! As important elements appear (such as your first Golden Bug collection), this is referenced at the start of the next section.
7. Items to Obtain: Vitally important to many an adventurer are lists of items that must be found during an exploration. Fortunately, we’ve listed every single non-Rupee item, so you can make sure you’ve thoroughly explored every area. The items are shown in the order you receive them.
The second part is the main walkthrough itself, which gives you a thorough explanation of everything you can do during that specific part of the adventure:
8. Information Box: This walkthrough has many different Information Boxes. There are many other types of Information Boxes, such as:
- Author: How the authors reacted to certain parts of the game.
- Hidden Skills: Instructions on when you receive and how you learn each Hidden Skill.
- Weapons: Revelations on how to use each major item and weapon you receive.
- Portals: References to every new warp portal that opens up.
- Mid Boss and Boss Battles: Tactics on battling the toughest beasts of Hyrule.
- Stores: Showcases the goods and prices of stores throughout the Kingdom.
- Golden Bug: Reveals where all of Agitha’s insects are found.
- Poe: Shows where every one of the 60 roaming Poe foes are encountered.
- Missing Links: Reveals the hidden, cool, and otherwise odd stuff you can do.
- Postman: Showcases when the Postman arrives, and where he’s found.
9. Frame-by-frame Action: Where appropriate, battles or other visual elements are shown in a series of screens, which make for spectacular viewing!
10. Notes, Tips, and Cautions: Throughout the walkthrough, whenever there are additional points to make (Notes), tactics to try or knowledge to impart (Tips), or warnings to deliver (Cautions), these appear.
11. Items: Whenever you receive an item in the adventure, the walkthrough shows it too; this way you can keep track of exactly what you got, and when!
