Task 8: Defeat Twilit Dragon Argorok

Twilit Dragon Argorok

You walk onto the windy tower. From the skies a massive dragon glides in, with huge, powerful wings and a set of fangs with teeth bigger than a Goron! This is the Twilit Dragon Argorok, and you must defeat it!

Step 1: Ascend the spires to the very top to gain a height advantage over Argorok. Do this by Clawshotting to the spire, then alternating between spires until you reach the top. The choice of spires is important. Propel yourself to the spires that are close together, as you’ll ascend quickly.

Step 2: Argorok then swoops in and scrapes the ground with its talons. The wind caused by its wings can push you off the tower. Quickly put on your Iron Boots to prevent yourself from express shipping yourself back to Hyrule.

Step 3: Argorok now stops and sits on a spire for a moment. Then it tries to take you down with a talon scrape and wind blow once again. If you’re on the flight path, roll so you aren’t struck, and immediately put those boots on!

Step 4: Now Argorok circles at a higher elevation, forcing you to climb the spires again. Continue up to the middle of the spire, and continuously try to ZL target Argorok’s tail. Clawshot to it, and pull the beast down again. The creature flails and the last of its armor falls off, exposing a weak spot. It rises, draws thunder claps, and the final combat begins!

Step 5: Peahats have risen from the ground, and are floating in a large circle above the top of the spires. Clawshot all the way to the top, and ZL target your closest Peahat. Then automatically Clawshot from Peahat to Peahat using ZL, as Argorok flaps in the middle.

Step 6: Continue to circle around Argorok as it breathes fire; you must quickly reach a Peahat that gives you a view of Argorok’s back. Stop here and ZL target the weak spot on the back. Be quick!

Step 7: Propel yourself onto Argorok’s back, and plunge your sword into that weak spot, as the dragon thrashes around. Keep the swipes and slashes going until you both plummet to the ground. The dragon slowly rises up again.

Step 8: Repeat Steps 5–7 twice more. On the third occasion, as the lightning storm intensifies, stop and wait for Argorok to start breathing fire. Maneuver from Peahat to Peahat, and when the dragon changes direction, you must too. Change direction again (you may need to do this a couple of times), then navigate around so you’re facing the dragon’s back. Then dish the final damage!

Midna appears. She says that only the true ruler of the Twilit can destroy the Mirror. Zant must be a false king! She opens a portal and asks you to head immediately to the Mirror Chamber. All in good time! First, pick up the Heart Container. Then, head back to Lake Hylia via a Clawshot into the back of the Sky Cannon.
