Chamber 12: Boss Battle! Usurper King Zant (4F)

Once in the Twili king’s entourage, Zant was furious that Midna’s father (the king) didn’t appoint him to succeed. This resentment against the royal clan of the Twilit Kingdom grew until a malevolent spirit bestowed a magical power to Zant. He transformed Midna into an impish figure and began to force the kingdom to bend to his—and Ganondorf’s—will. |
Zant
Step 1: Zant begins combat immediately, transporting you back to the Forest Temple and beginning to rain energy bolts down on you. There are Hearts in the pottery behind you. The takedown is similar to Twilit Diababa’s: sidestep or block the bolts, bring out your Gale Boomerang, and ZL target Zant, then throw it. Zant bounces across to the grass. Run to him, and slice him with your sword. Repeat this. 
Step 2: Zant transports you both to the Goron Mines and places you on the metallic platform where you fought Dangoro. Block or sidestep the energy bolts, and place the Iron Boots on when Zant pounds the floor. Just after he finishes, take off the boots, and charge him; ZL target and stay in the middle. He may disappear several times; wait until he slumps with exhaustion, then run and strike. Step 3: Quickly don the Zora Armor as you appear deep in Lakebed Temple. Place your Iron Boots on so you can attack, block the energy bolts, then Clawshot Zant out of his giant stone head and into a barrage of your sword strikes. He disappears, and four giant Zant Masks rumble out of the ground. Zant randomly appears in one, so stay between two Masks and wait until the mouth opens from either of them. Then Clawshot him into close combat and slice! Step 4: Your next encounter is in the Forest Temple, where you fought Ook the Baboon. Zant fires off yet more energy bolts. Change to your Hero’s Clothes. This is a good time to stock up on Hearts from pots around the sides of this cavern. Wait until Zant stands on a totem pole for a moment, then roll into it twice, knocking him off. Slice him. Step 5: Your fifth confrontation takes place in Yeta’s bedroom, which is encased in ice. Zant is in a gigantic form, so watch his reflection in the ice, roll as he descends, and quickly bring out the Ball and Chain and ZL target either foot as he attempts to stamp on it. A hit causes him to hop around clutching his stubbed toe, and he shrinks to the size of a Bomskit! Target with the ZL button and slice him with your sword. Repeat this. 
Step 6: Zant now transports you to a final fight outside the Castle Town south entrance. He begins by transforming his arms into large blades and waddles forward, slicing at you. Block this with your shield, and try to push him back; then roll away while ZL targeting, and slash and spin attack as he teleports around you. Step 7: Once you’ve dished enough punishment, Zant begins a really nasty spin attack that saps energy and knocks you off your feet. Retaliate by placing your Iron Boots on so he can’t push you back, and block the entire spin. As Zant slows, or stops completely, he’ll either teleport or stop for a second. This is the time to execute a vicious spin attack of your own! Keep this technique going until you deliver Zant a final blow! Midna thinks she can harness this power to aid you and restore Princess Zelda after what she gave to help Midna. Midna opens a warp portal out of the throne room. Take your final Heart Container, and then leave this place. Hyrule Castle must be breached!
