As advisors and others come to you with their concerns, you generally have two choices for your response. For a preview of the responses, swipe just a bit in either direction. Most often, the responses are yes or no, or variations of them. Sometimes you’re simply being fed information, so both left and right swipes bring up the same response.
Each response usually impacts one or more of the four pillars of the kingdom. The icon at the top (cross for church, stick figure for the people, sword for the military, and dollar sign for the treasury) flashes green when your stature grows with a group or red when your stature is diminished.
Some decisions result in an ongoing effect. There are four spots for icons at the bottom of the screen, just under the year. These icons track the current effects, since many last several years and continue even after a change in who occupies the throne. Regardless of how well you perform, every game of Reigns ends in 2001.
