Tap the red button with the chicken silhouette (the one labeled “Tap this button to make chickens!”) to make chickens. The status bar under your available cash indicates how full your hatchery is.
Everything else is done automatically. The chickens head into your buildings and lay eggs. Delivery trucks pull up at your farm to collect the eggs, then take them away to be sold.
Your active contributions, beyond tapping the red button, are funding research, selecting upgrades to improve aspects of your egg farm, shooting down drones, and completing missions.
Research
Tap the flask icon or the science station (look for the telescope) to bring up the Research menu. There are two types of research: common and epic. Spend bocks to complete common research. Epic research requires the expenditure of golden eggs.
There are 12 tiers of common research, but many tiers are locked initially. The number next to the flask at the top of each tier indicates how many research upgrades you must purchase to unlock that tier. The number updates with each common research purchase.
Each time you spend bocks on common research, you receive a golden egg. Golden eggs are spent in a few different ways, one of which is purchasing epic research advances.
Upgrades
There are three non-research upgrades for your farm: hen housing, shipping depot, and silos. Touch any of the coops to bring up the Hen Housing menu.
You begin with one coop for your hens, with three empty spots for additional buildings. There’s no way to increase the number of buildings for hens, but you can upgrade each to a planet portal that houses 100,000,000 hens.
The shipping depot is the wooden structure next to the road. Your fleet starts out with a single trike and can expand up to four total vehicles. Upgraded vehicles have greater capacity, which must match the output from your chickens.
Silos store the money you earn while you’re not actively playing Egg, Inc. Each silo stores one hour’s worth of money. Adding a second silo costs 10,000 bocks, but adding more beyond that costs actual money.
Drones
Crashed drones leave behind valuables, including golden eggs. Whenever you see a drone buzzing your farm, tap on it to shoot it down. If you have trouble tapping the drones, try sliding your finger on the screen until the drone goes down.
Missions
Tap on the check-box icon to bring up your current mission. Completing mission objectives most often awards money, golden eggs, or soul eggs, which are important when you choose to prestige.
