Minecraft is a sandbox survival open-world game where you build whatever structures you want by harvesting raw materials to craft tools and building materials.
Minecraft Pocket Edition features a “Survival” and a “Creative” mode. Each mode offers a range of difficulty settings (Peaceful, Easy, Normal, and Hard). Peaceful difficulty gets rid of the requirement to eat and also gets rid of monsters. The harder the difficulty, the faster you starve, and the more damage you take from starvation. Monsters (who from now on will be called mobs) spawn more frequently and are stronger.
Survival Mode
Survival mode requires you to survive the world you’ve been placed into. If you choose any other difficulty than Peaceful, you need to harvest or hunt for food, collect resources, and survive or sleep through the night to escape the threat of mobs such as Spiders, Skeletons, Zombies, and more. Other settings can be altered before you load into your world, like the option to spawn a starter chest with random materials when you load in for the first time, the option for friendly fire—if you choose to play multiplayer—keeping inventory after death, and more.
Creative Mode
Creative mode allows you to build whatever you want without the struggle of having to survive, and you get to fly! You don’t take damage, and you have access to every item in the game.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer worlds offer a wide range of game modes, both PvE and PvP, or simply playing Survival with friends in your own world. Many worlds are created by other players; you’ll have plenty to explore on that front.
