Each time you get a new egg, go to the world map and choose a location for it. Each new land introduces additional enemies, items, and characters to the adventure.
Companions and Other Residents
The characters who populate your town serve a variety of functions. Some open shops, while others will travel with you to the other lands. Anyone with an exclamation point (!) overhead has a quest for you. If there are three dots (…), then they have a request for a certain item. A heart indicates they want to talk, and they will often reward you for listening.
One of the goals in Egglia is to increase your friendship level with everyone. Give them gifts daily (check the Eggpedia for more information on the residents), then construct and furnish homes for them. Dunkel and Yergan are your sources for homes and furnishings, so get to their quests as quickly as you can.
Companions are the characters who will travel with you to lands outside the town. While you move and fight, they pick up items based on their field skill. The icons next to the field skill tell you what items they gather. The better your friendship with potential companions, the higher their field skill becomes. Before you select a companion, check their morale score. Anyone with a morale score under 10 won’t be available to accompany you unless you wait for their morale score to replenish itself, or have the proper elixir.
Spirits
Spirits provide occasional conversation while you’re home and special abilities (known as runes) while you’re exploring. While exploring, assign two spirits to assault roles and the third to support. The runes available for use depend on their current role. The link rune is a passive ability that is active each time the linked spirits are on the active team. Spirits need mana to use runes. One mana is replenished each turn, to a maximum of 10.
To find new spirits, travel under the well and place food items on the three flowers. If you repeat an item that was used previously, you may get a tater instead. Evolving spirits requires a visit to Tekko, at the sign with purple crystals. He converts seeds into jewels that will evolve spirits.
Explore the Lands
Touch the world icon to leave your home. Touch one of the available lands, then the Area Info button to learn more about the selected land. The Area Info screen displays mission requirements, rewards, and attainable items that are collected by your chosen companions or from chests. The Companion button allows you to set your companions and spirit formation. When everything is set, touch Confirm.
Each turn begins with a dice roll. Move to one of the highlighted spaces and take an action (attack an enemy, chop down a tree, use a rune, or collect an item) by double-tapping the screen. Your goal is to reach the space marked Next or Clear before you run out of turns. On your way to the Next or Clear space, try to gather items and defeat the enemies that get in your way. Failure to reach that space, or losing all of your health, returns you to the world map. Clearing a stage opens up slightly more difficult versions of that stage with new missions and enemies.
