Focus first on boosting your farm’s cash production. Increasing egg output with comfortable nests and egg value with nutritional supplements is the best way to accomplish this on fledgling farms. After you unlock tier 2, learn padded packaging and bigger eggs as fast as you can.
Epic research will come much later in your game. When you start, focus on choices that make it easier to increase your farm value: cheaper contractors, lab upgrade, accounting tricks, soul food (once you have soul eggs), and prestige bonus (just before you choose the prestige option for the first time).
