Legend of Grimrock is an action role-playing game with a real-time, 3-D grid-based interface, with dungeon-crawler-style gameplay and a Dungeon Master feel. You control a party of one to four characters with an expansive inventory and equipping interface. As in any RPG, experience is earned and skills are enhanced. Gameplay is a mixture of exploration, solving puzzles, and combat. For a serious challenge, you can choose the Old School option at the beginning of the game to give you the Dungeons and Dragons feel, where you must chart your own progress through the dungeons using pencil and grid paper. The digital tutorial allows you to print your own grid sheet.
