Class Tips

Use the following tips to help create your adventuring party. The optimal stats choice uses raw numbers and does not take into account passive abilities granted by the choices of gamer personality or character race.

Bounty Hunter

With all of their abilities that increase the Critical Chance stat, bounty hunters can deal damage in big chunks. That’s great against rank-and-file enemies that drop after one or two hits but can cause problems against bosses. If your tank can’t keep up with your bounty hunter’s threat generation, invest in gadgets that reduce threat.

Optimal stats choice: Achiever and Human

Engineer

Whether designed to tank or deal damage, keep your engineer on the front line. Tanking engineers may not need much in the way of healing because they have abilities that restore their shielding and health. If you’re using an engineer to deal damage, you can’t go wrong with the Breach ability.

Optimal stats choice (tank): Romantic and Simian

Optimal stats choice (damage): Thinker and Green

Gadgeteer

Depending on how they’re set up, gadgeteers can be damage focused or act as support. Gadgeteers have passive and active abilities that boost Critical Chance, which means they must equip items to combat threat generation. To be at their best, another character in your party should be able to inflict the Poison status on enemies.

Optimal stats choice: Showoff and Green

Heavy

The ultimate front-line combatant, the heavy exists to draw and hold the attention of enemy forces so your other characters can do their jobs safely. If you’re considering High Threat abilities, either select all of them or take none of them.

Optimal stats choice: Romantic and Simian

Medtech

Stash medtechs in the back line so they can keep everyone else alive and functioning. Get the First Aid ability quickly. Any health restored over the target’s maximum is used to restore their shield. If you like a healer who can chip in damage during battles, you should build a party around inflicting the Poison status.

Optimal stats choice: Thinker and Green

Negotiator

Negotiators are setup characters. They can deal damage, but many of their abilities either boost Critical Chance for allies or inflict negative effects on enemies. More so than any other class, negotiator ability choices rely heavily on what you choose for other characters.

Optimal stats choice: Showoff and Green

Savage

Savages are front-line damage dealers with a few abilities that affect multiple enemies in one attack. If you include a savage in your party, keep in mind that more powerful enemies are generally immune to Stun. If you know a big fight is coming up, change out any Stun-based abilities for others that are more effective.

Optimal stats choice: Slayer and Simian

Trooper

Troopers can pull double duty, functioning as either tanks (front line) or damage dealers (back line). They excel against enemies with the Mark status on them and possess multiple abilities to inflict it. Use Scan Targets against large groups and Get Over Here! or Combat Sovereignty when tanking.
