Asphalt Xtreme is the first off-road racing game in Gameloft’s series of Asphalt racing games (Asphalt Urban GT 1 and 2, Asphalt 3-9, Asphalt 3D, Airborne, Overdrive, Nitro, and Street Storm).
Asphalt Xtreme features 35 licensed cars, with new cars continuing to be added. Sorted into five performance classes (D, C, B, A, S), there are seven categories of vehicles: buggy, SUV, pickup, rally car, monster truck, truck, and muscle car. Each vehicle type has its own strengths and weaknesses, keeping the game interesting, competitive, and well balanced.
There are five race types in single and multiplayer modes: Classic, Versus, Infected, Elimination, and Knockdown. The eight locations each have up to four unique tracks. You can race in Mongolia, Thailand, Egypt, Norway, Detroit (U.S.A.), France, Coachella Valley (U.S.A.), and Asia.
The gameplay in a nutshell is to come in first while completing course objectives. Winning is made easier when you destroy objects and drift in the turns. These two actions fill your turbo meter faster, and the more turbo you can use the quicker you can get ahead of the pack and maintain the lead.
