Make sure that all the party members get in at least one hit when you fight a monster. Otherwise, those who were not involved only get 50 percent of the XP for the battle. Make those mages cast spells from the back of the party even when up against easy monsters. If their magic is ineffective against a monster with a similar element, make them throw rocks or shuriken.
