Gems are the most versatile resource in Monster Legends, which makes them the most valuable. They’re used to buy everything, including treasure chests, eggs, legendary monsters, and much more. In fact, you can even trade gems for time. Every project, whether it’s building, breeding, or hatching, includes an Instant option and the number of gems required for the Instant option.
Unless your wallet is wide open, gems are difficult to obtain in the numbers required to keep everything moving along. You will get a few while clearing debris from your base, but most gems require work. The following are a few rules to follow to get the most of your gems.
No Waste!
The first rule of gem use in Monster Legends is this: Don’t spend them to save time. Keep gems for the things that can’t be obtained any other way, such as upgrading the hatchery and purchasing the breeding tree. Buy only legendary and (some!) epic monsters, since everything else is available through breeding or as rewards during special events. If possible, buy monsters and buildings when they’re available through a special sale.
Make Friends
Click on the Social button in the lower left corner of the screen. Making friends can be its own reward, but it’s also a great way to get gems. Don’t forget to check the achievements related to friends!
Check Achievements
Achievements appear under Goals. Achievements award both stars and gems. Scroll through the list from time to time to see how close you are to completing an achievement, then work to get that achievement done.
Participate in Competitions and Special Events
Competitions and special events start and end often. Always check rules to see how you to earn the rewards. These competitions and special dungeons don’t stick around for long, so watch the countdown timer so you don’t miss out!
Get Out and Fight
After some battles, you get to spin a roulette wheel. Gems are typically among the items you can win with a spin. Gems may also be rewards for completing some dungeons, which change regularly.
