Episode 6: Out of Business

A Los Angeles car dealership serves as a front for the Korean Mafia. Mendoza and Latchford are going in to find out how it all connects to their investigations.

Investigate the Dealership

Once parked in the alley, cross the street and enter the dealership, either through one of the front doors or shoot up the side window for the quickest route. Find the computer in the right office. Interact with it to initiate download.

Transfer the Data

Progress toward transferring the data is shown in the upper-right corner. Once it reaches 100/100, you can grab the thumb drive. Unfortunately, a silent alarm has been tripped and four thugs pull up out front.

These guys are aware of your presence, but they still must find you. They split up with two entering the building while the others search the parking lot. Flash your badge when the first two are within range and arrest them. The guys outside can be taken down individually with relative ease.

The next group of men is a bit more fierce—literally entering the building with guns blazing. An SUV equipped with a minigun joins the battle. Dig in inside one of the offices and fight the men off. The walls are very thin and don’t offer much protection. Move around to avoid being pinned down. It is possible to take the guy out on the minigun, but another one eventually shows up.

Retrieve the Drive

Letting some of the men into or near the offices allows for non-lethal takedowns with the T62 CEW, though it really isn’t worth the trouble. Once the data transfer is complete, grab the drive.

Get Back to Car

Quickly jump out the far right window and sprint to the car, still parked in the alley. Arcing the run to the right does limit the damage taken from the minigun.

Steal a Car

The escape is halted as your vehicle flips into a neighboring property. You must find another car and a nice candidate sits in the middle of the lot. Four thugs attempt to keep the detective from it. Take cover and kill them or make a run for the vehicle. The higher the difficulty, the tougher the latter plan becomes. Watch out for incoming fire grenades.

Drive to the Salvage Yard

Enter the car and bust through the gate. Drive straight ahead into the riverbed and follow it to the left. Drive up the ramp on the right, cross the tracks, and head into the parking lot of the salvage yard.

Investigate the Salvage Yard

Exit the vehicle, follow Tyson up the steps inside the warehouse, and use the Scanner to tag the criminals and alarm system across the street. Hop over the railing and step into the street.

There are a few ways to get into the salvage yard and begin taking down the criminals. The building on the right can be scaled with the Grappling Hook. From there, shoot the alarm box and take the enemy on with a direct approach. Or, drop off the other side and stealthily take them down.

A second option is to run around the left side, entering the area near the trailer. Start out by taking out the guy inside and then make your way around the garage. Be careful. Starting out this far away from the alarm box means more time to get caught before the system can be disabled.

If the direct approach is preferred, go in through the front entrance and take the bad guys head on. It is best to get a shot at the alarm box before getting caught or reinforcements are called in.

Once everyone has been taken care of, run over to the crane in the far-right corner and push the lever forward to lower the car. Interact with the trunk to find Boomer. He graciously hands over his key card.

Find the Laptop

Use the card at the gate to reach the salvage yard warehouse. You can enter on the left, straight ahead, or up the steps on the right. This last choice gives a good view of the ground level, so climb to the second floor. Take down the lone guy inside and tag the criminals below.

On the first floor, use shell casings to pull each of the five thugs away from the group, arresting them out of view from the others. Once the building is clear, exit out the back door.

Search the trunk ahead to find the laptop. An attacker jumps the detective. While fighting the guy off, press the Fire button when you have the shot.

Meet Up with Tyson

An explosion attracts five more thugs to the warehouse as it fills up with smoke. These guys actively search for the detective, but they can still be moved around with distraction. Exit out the front or side door and take cover behind the car.

Reinforcements have reoccupied the scrapyard, including one guy who fires from atop the garage. The criminals come after the detective very aggressively, so be ready. More men show up during the battle. Make your way out to the street and jump into the car.

Escape in Car

Accelerate down the street, turning left and then right when forced to do so, ending up back in the riverbed. Stay out of the river while avoiding the attacking vehicles. Attempt to take them out with PIT maneuvers whenever possible.

A van enters the chase ahead, showing the way to the other side. Follow the van as it fires rockets your way. Weave left and right to minimize the damage. Eventually, a path opens up to the right.

After you switch to the passenger seat, the car comes to a stop. As soon as an enemy vehicle enters the construction site, begin firing at the passenger. The primary or secondary weapon can be used and ammunition is unlimited without the need to reload. Continue to take out any passenger that leans out of the window until a car flies overhead. Inside the metro, one last car attacks from the left tracks. Fire at the vehicle until it plows into the wall.

Investigate the Chop Shop

Run down the alley, under an overpass, and turn left at the wall. A Tactical Gear case sits inside a cardboard box in case you need to make a change to your equipment. Just ahead, use the Scanner to survey the situation on the other side of the train tracks.

The big warehouse is the chop shop and your objective is to get inside and investigate. There are many ways to enter the building, but first you should take care of the guards around the outside.

One way to eliminate the outside criminals is as follows.

1. Move around the left side of the locomotive, walk up to the lone guy in back, and arrest him.

2. Take cover behind the dumpster as another guy heads your way. Step out and cuff him.

3. Walk around the corner from which he came and arrest the three criminals who are grouped together.

4. Return to the tracks, and walk under the walkway. When you find the single enemy next to the truck, take him down.

5. One final man stands guard outside the building. Lure him away from the garage door and drop him around the corner.

Getting inside the chop shop can be as easy as entering through the back office or through one of the garage doors. Or, use the Grappling Hook to climb onto the rooftop and slip into the open window to reach the walkway inside.

The garage door that the lone offender guarded is the best option since an alarm box hangs on the wall just inside. Press the button to open it up and duck behind the barrel. This gets the attention of the guy inside. Take him down as he investigates.

Immediately disable the alarm and then head up the steps to eliminate the criminal on the walkway. Take out anyone who remains in the garage.

Once you are ready to move on, return to the area near the alarm box. Two doors lead to another small garage area. Open one up and take out the four guys inside. Continue through the exit ahead to complete Episode 6.
