  • You must maintain air superiority when playing as the police, adding a challenge that most Heist maps just do not have. Having a helicopter makes the criminals’ job a whole lot easier, so destroy their chopper as quick and as often as possible. There are two objectives your team must protect, and neither one is within a direct line of sight of the other. You can try and split your forces on the initial defensive set up and surround each objective individually. However, use the Western Visceral Railroad Company main building as a hub for your forces to deploy at will. Bring a defibrillator with you and take advantage of the light machine gun battle pickup located nearby to fend of incoming criminals. The LMG is great for taking down the enemy helicopter. It won’t bring it down very quickly, but it will bring it down much faster than any other kit-based firearm. Keeping the criminals at bay without them setting any breach charges is obviously what is going to help you win the round. However, unlike Heist on many other maps, once the criminals have blown the doors on the train cars the rest of the round is well in their favor. If the train car doors get opened, it is a good idea to blow up the tram bridge, creating another obstacle for the criminals during their escape. It is important to note how far the extractions are from the cash pickups. As the police, you should have a few healthy vehicles at the ready because once the criminals begin their escape, it is incredibly difficult to catch them on foot. You better believe that they’re going to make for a quick getaway.
  • Keep the helicopter in the air, healthy, and well manned with at least both gunners occupied and constantly fending off the enemy police helicopter and anyone with a rocket launcher. There aren’t many opportunities in Heist where the criminals not only have fast getaway vehicles, but a helicopter to take the cash to the drop point. A good pilot on this mode/map combination doesn’t go looking for the action, but constantly drops friendly bangers close enough to the objective to stay protected, giving them a leg up and keeping the pressure on the defending SWAT team. Good communication between your team’s hacker and all squads creates great opportunities to breach, grab the cash, and head back away from the enemy deployment towards the friendly helicopter to take them to the least defended drop zone. Once your team has air superiority, take control of the train company building because it is the key location responsible for making both a safe breach and a safe first phase of a getaway.
  • Unfortunately for the criminals, there are two major breach points and no secondary breach points. Since they are not exactly right next to each other it is very possible to begin the breach process on one without the defenders of the other being able to respond in time without compromising the second objective. Each breach point is located in its own large red train car and can only be breached from the east side. Seeing that they are both on only one side, this makes attacking a little more difficult for the criminals and makes the adjacent building an even more important key location for this mode. The majority of the fighting happens before the breach; afterwards, it’s a crapshoot.
  • Extraction heavily depends on a few different things: air superiority, major enemy occupancy, and friendly vehicles. Air superiority is extremely important because as long as there is an enemy helicopter fully equipped and strafing the streets, extractions like (B) and (C) are nearly impossible, however if your team owns the sky these extractions are close and easy to get to. Depending on where the majority of the enemy is, and if you have the vehicles to get there, extraction (A) is your best bet. (A) is located in the Construction Site and is covered on all sides with large dumpsters and buildings. If you set it up, you can park cars at the two entrances, buying your team a little extra time. Extraction (A) is the closest extraction to the police deployment, but because of how well guarded it is, it is still a prime location where teamwork and communication allows your squad to set up a good defense.
