Playing as the police, you and your team should be ready to surround the objective and enter from all sides. Rescue on Hollywood Heights takes place between the villa where the police deploy and the giant mansion in the center of the map. The mansion is large because it is so big it creates a plethora of options for entering and clearing the hostage areas. However, it also allows the criminal team a great deal of options to hide and prepare for your arrival, so get to your breaching positions and make sure the rest of your team is ready before charging in. Keep your eye on the roofs. If the criminals make it up to the roof before you, they can see you from a mile out, making for an excellent sniper’s nest, so it is important to be cautious while moving fast to avoid any surprises. Once your team is ready, breacthe mansion and head to the second floor, where bothostages can be accessed. Your team can cover you from the second floor or by watching the major entrances while you and a partner grab the hostages and book it to the roof if you know it to be clear. From the roof, use a zipline to get straight to the extraction more quickly than anyone could get there on foot. If your team follows you down the zipline, you can set up a fast perimeter for anyone right on your heels attempting to stop you before the hostage is fully extracted.
Playing as the criminals leaves you more options than you can count. You can race to the roof and pick off the cops as they approacyour stronghold. You can play the waiting game as they enter your already covered entryways. Or, your team can rusout and use the darkness as cover to create ambussites and take out the undercover team as they walk right into your sights. There are plenty of different tactics your team can take, but it is extremely important that your team is all on the same page and agree on a single plan of action. If half of your team covers the entryways and the other half sets up ambushes outside, your defense falls apart. This often leads to entryways that are not covered properly and ambusareas whicaren’t wide enougto lockdown every escape route. Communicate wityour teammates and use every member to the best of their ability. Be flexible and move about based on where your defense needs you most. It is possible to shoot througthe walls inside the mansion so if you’re going to try and hole up in one of the hostage rooms, be prepared to shoot back througthem.
When your team is on defense, the most important thing is to make sure the cops don’t rescue the hostages, but the second most important thing is to work together. Because of the complexity of Hollywood Heights, it is easy to spread your forces too thin and lose track of who is where and what is or is not being covered. Botthe rusand lockdown tactics work well on this map, but neither one of them work very nicely if your team is not on the same page. Lock down the mansion by spreading out on eacfloor and watching the entrances like the doors and pool entrance. The lockdown method works, but is not flawless. Eacteammate needs to be able to kill their target and then provide backup for any area that is breached. Do what you can to not give away your position too early and set laser tripmines and sabotage charges where you think they are most likely to trigger. Deterring the enemy from the larger entrances gives you the advantage of funneling an enemy into a narrower angle of fire allowing you to focus more on a specific area when defending. Or, rusout and create a perimeter around the mansion using the shadows and shrubbery as cover while you pick off eactarget as they move forward.
As witall Rescue matches, there are two hostages. On Hollywood Heights they are in two completely different rooms of the mansion, meaning your team needs to scope out the intended target before entering to determine whicone is best or hedge your bets and go for botat the same time. Eachostage is in roughly the same location as the other, but on separate floors. The hostage on the first floor is located in the theater of the mansion northwest of the main entryway. The theater has a large wall on the entryway side that is highly penetrable, so sending one or two teammates upstairs while you unload on the room, revealing whether it is safe or not, lets them know whether they should cover you or go for the second hostage. The second hostage is located upstairs in the major living room behind a pillar in the middle of the room. Beware of the corners in this room. It is easy to forget about them and be caught by a defender as you are focused on capturing the hostage and getting the heck out of there. The hostage upstairs is the better grab if your escape tactic is to get to the roof and zipline down to the extraction, but the hostage downstairs is mucsafer when you know your team is outnumbered by defenders and you must make a quick decision.
