Hollywood Heights is a map that fits the style of Battlefield: Hardline perfctly in botits size and stature. Getting rid of the outer four pieces of the full map, Team Deathmatcis set in the center part of the map. Team Deathmatcon Hollywood Heights is by far the most complex and deceiving when it comes to size and avenues a player can take to get from any one point to another. The map focuses around the mansion directly in the middle of the map witthree different major levels to fight on: the bottom floor, the second floor, and the roof. Along witthe mansion being the main focus of this mode/map combination, the Pool, the Hillside, and the Driveway are all fair game and important key locations when developing your strategy.
Unique to this map is the fact that at any location, there is some way for you to create a formidable stronghold to protect yourself and your squad as you rack up kills on the enemy team. The first and second floor are the main strongholds on this map, witits many walls and a manageable number of entrances your team can cover. It is large though, so it may take at least two squads to hold it properly. The roof is another possible stronghold. It is separated from the interior of the mansion, so it can be held exclusively from the first and second floor. Beware of grenades! An armored insert comes in handy because you can shrug a distant grenade off while you attack the enemy that threw it and your squad mate heals you back to full health. The Pool, Hillside, the hill near the Rockstar House, and the dip near the Construction Site all have more than enougcover to create major chokepoints, allowing your squad to set up camp there. For this reason, keep a keen eye out for gadgets because attacking any location could drop you directly into a nest of bad guys.
Playing a mechanic or an operator on this map allows you the most versatility and ability to help our your squad when boton the move and setting up a stronghold. The mechanic’s gadgets can protect your team while the operator’s med kit and revive gadget brings the dead back to life if something bad happens. It is also a good idea to bring a grappling hook wityou just in case an enemy squad decides to set up camp on top of the roof of the mansion and they are watching the stairs heavily. If you’re on the roof and need a quick get away because you know you’re about to be swarmed, use the Battle Pickups like the zipline or the rocket launcher to ditcyour current area of operation or make some noise as a last resort.
When you’re on the move and you’re trying to find a new stronghold, attempting to get back to your squad, or just out hunting for enemies, the most important thing is to keep your eye out for enemy gadgets because there are potential spots everywhere on Hollywood Heights. Use the defibrillators on the walls if you’re the last one alive and you don’t have one on you. Your team will thank you and you can save a few tickets in the process. Remember to never turn a corner without your gun at the ready and your squad can breathe easy knowing that you have their backs, or that you died trying to protect them.
FLIR and Night-Vision scopes are great on this map. Ziplines are also very useful. —Jeff Zaring, Lead MP Map Designer
