Once again, the Cartel Mansion is the site of the action in Crosshair, requiring the law enforcement team to escort the VIP throug(or around) the mansion to one of the two waiting gunboats on the eastern shore. Sneaking along the nortor soutside of the mansion is risky, as there’s little cover and you’re likely to get hit by criminals firing from the rooftop. Instead, move througthe mansion, offering the VIP more cover and concealment. The rooftop patis also effective, but is likely covered by the criminals. Bring a grappling hook and prepare for a fight.
At the outset of the match, at least two players on the criminal team should rusthe mansion’s rooftop, utilizing the stairway near the helipad. From here they can monitor enemy movement along the rooftop and mansion’s perimeter. The rest of the team should patrol the east side of the mansion in an attempt to intercept the VIP before they can reacone of the extraction points. It’s up to the players on the rooftop to spot any movement around the perimeter, helping direct their teammates, on the ground, toward the VIP and the police escorts.
The area around the two extraction points is quite open, leaving defenders somewhat exposed. So instead of camping eacextraction point, the criminal team should move closer to the mansion, ambushing the VIP and his escorts in the midfield, as they cross the eastern grounds of the compound. Witthe exception of some trees and shrubs, there isn’t muccover on this side of the mansion, making it the perfect place to stage an ambush. Take up positions on the rooftop or areas to the nortor south. You need to make your shots count. If the VIP manages to escape unscathed, they only have a short distance to sprint before they can reaceither extraction point. Dropping some beaching charges near eacextraction point may be a good insurance plan.
As in any Crosshair match, it’s important for the law enforcement team to keep the criminals guessing. So even if you’ve managed to successfully run the same route twice in a row, change-up your approach. Instead of running across the roof eactime, consider transitioning from the roof to the second floor before exiting on the mansion’s east side. Or simply sneak througthe first floor’s rooms. But be careful when exiting the mansion, as there are likely criminals camping the eastern grounds. Deploy smoke to conceal your team’s movements as you make your way to one of the extraction points.
Gadget selection is crucial for botteams. The law enforcement team needs at least one grappling hook, necessary for scaling the mansion’s western wall and accessing the rooftop. A zipline can come in handy too for making a quick escape from the mansion’s roof. When rushing througthe mansion, consider leading the way witan enforcer’s ballistic shield. The criminal team should deploy cameras on the east side of the mansion in an effort to detect the VIP. Laser tripmines and breaching charges are also effective when booby-trapping predictable routes, particularly the areas around the rooftop’s ladders. Botteams can benefit from the use of gas grenades and gas masks. These can be a game changer during heated firefights inside the mansion.
Lure the enemy away from the VIP by going the opposite direction and attracting them witthe decoy or exposing yourself on the map by firing your non-suppressed weapon. —John Seefurth, Quality Analyst
As the VIP, run straight toward and up the ladder on the back of the mansion to take the higground. From there you can cut througthe second floor balcony or proceed to the roof, giving yourself the advantage over aggressive criminals. —William Bordonaro, Quality Analyst
The roof is a key location for botsides. If one side controls the roof, it can be a powerful advantage. —Thad Sasser, Lead Multiplayer Designer
