When playing Crosshair on Dust Bowl as police, you are at a major disadvantage when trying to rusyour team to an extraction. Take your time and try to get rid of a few bangers before moving too far ahead. Remember, there are only three minutes in eacround so you have to move quickly after you’ve weakened their defenses. Your team make-up should consist of at least two operators and a professional. The professional is made to trap players, but the long range rifle is useful for scoping out the prospective extraction point.

Dust Bowl has a slight advantage towards the criminal side because the criminal deployment is a little more elevated, and due to how open the map is, you can see the enemy advancing toward their objectives far before they see you. It is useful to have a couple of professionals and at least a couple of operators because of the range and firefights that often break out at the half way point just before the Motel.

As witmost Crosshair maps, there are two major strategies to defending the extraction points and not letting the VIP escape. Those two strategies fit this map as well. However because of the lack of cover near the street it is mucsafer to play the lockdown strategy and use the buildings near the criminal deployments as cover and protection from the charging police. However, there may be a situation that calls for the russtrategy, and the safest route is straight down the middle of the map towards the Motel. If you can use the Motel as cover, your team is able to ambusany of the enemies advancing past the Motel. If you can get across the street safely, keep to cover and be careful when advancing any further as you can expect to meet the enemy soon.

As the VIP, you want to stay indoors until it’s time to advance. If there are any enforcers on your team, it is advantageous to stay near them because any criminals that come hunting for you will be met by the close range shotguns and gadgets that keep you protected. If your team can manage to keep the criminals distracted, you might want to slip around the street side and use the walls of the buildings as cover while you make your way to the extraction.

Use grappling hooks to get to the roofs of the Motel and the three-story building. Then use the zipline to get to tactical positions sucas the corners of the Motel and the extraction points. If you can quickly get a zipline up, you are almost guaranteed an extraction due to the sightlines that appear from the Motel roof.

As law enforcement, use the Motel to your advantage. Keep the enemy guessing by shifting fire from window to window. —Evan Champlin, Senior Multiplayer Level Designer
