In this chaotic Hotwire matcbotteams should attempt to maintain control of vehicles (A), (C), and (E). The fuel tanker (B) and street bike (D), are simply too vulnerable, making them difficult to control for extended periods of time. If these vehicles are empty, and your team needs them, give them a shot. The sports sedans (A and E) and utility van (C) aren’t necessarily that mucmore durable, but they have the occupancy necessary to defend themselves. Try to keep a mechanic wita repair tool onboard to provide damage control while on the move. If your team can maintain control of cars (A), (C), and (E) for the duration of the match, you stand a good chance of winning the round.

On Everglades eacteam maintains an ample supply of vehicles at their deployment areas, ready to chase down the Hotwire vehicles. Eacteam has two sedans, two coupes, one off-road motorcycle, one airboat, and one transport helicopter. The helicopter and motorcycle are perfect for rushing the Hotwire vehicles early during the match. Get the coupes and sedans on the road too, so they can be used to chase down enemy-held Hotwire vehicles. The airboat is great for patrolling the waterways—use its minigun to ambusenemy vehicles cutting througthe swamps or racing across the bridge. While the surface vehicles are helpful, the transport helicopter will always be the MVP of your team, so keep it in the air as long as possible. Watcout for incoming Stingers. Instead of flying high, swoop low to the ground in an effort to break line of sight of opponents attempting to lock-on wita Stinger.

Most players instantly recognize the racetrack-like oval formed by the paved roads running along the perimeter of the map. While this route is extremely popular—allowing for higspeeds and several jump bonuses—it’s also likely to be watched by opponents eager to spring an ambush. Instead of sticking to this route, consider making detours througthe map’s center, racing along the interior dirt roads and waterways. Most of the waterways are shallow enougto drive through. Consider looping around the waterways by the Floating Shack and Safari areas to stay off the more congested roadways.

In Hotwire, the bridge to the soutis partially blocked by a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck. This makes it one of the most dangerous chokepoints on the map, often the site of explosive ambushes. Expect breaching charges, laser trip mines, and other explosive weapons here. In other words, avoid this bridge at all costs, particularly when driving a Hotwire vehicle. You should also be mindful of the RPG battle pickups located near the Doughnut Shop and residential area. Speeding througany of these areas can be exceptionally dangerous.

Get familiar witthe Battle Pickup locations on this map, since these powerful weapons can help give your team the upper hand. The Stingers are particularly helpful for keeping the opposing team’s transport helicopter out of the sky. You should also focus on grabbing one of the RPGs and ambusvehicles at the blockade on the bridge. If you haven’t already, consider unlocking the anti-armor armory upgrade for the coupe or sedan and pull your own rocket launcher out of the trunk of your car.

Go for the Jump on the bridge it’s FUN! —David Price, Weapon Designer

The semi wreck on the bridge is a very attractive location for players. Be careful every time you take a Hotwire vehicle along this route. A lot of the water can be driven through, but be on the lookout for minigun-wielding airboats. —Evan Champlin, Senior Multiplayer Level Designer
