When playing as the police during Conquest, make an early round pusto secure the three easternmost control points. Fill your transport helicopter and drop teammates at the Docks (A), Stilt House (B), and Cartel Mansion (C). Since the Cartel Mansion (C) is likely to see the heaviest action, waste no time moving your team’s mobile command center to the central island. This gives your team a spawn point here, even if the criminals manage to capture the mansion. Once your team has captured at least three control points, lock them down by posting at least one squad at eaclocation.

The criminals deploy on the west side of the map, making it easy for them to capture the Airport (D) and Villa (E) at the outset. But like the law enforcement team, the criminals should also make an aggressive early-round pusto secure the Cartel Mansion (C). Wita total of five control points up for grabs, capturing and holding a minimum of three points is necessary to begin draining the law enforcement team’s tickets.

As in most game modes, the Cartel Mansion (C) is the focal point of this battle—for good reason. In addition to offering an excellent rooftop sniping perch, the mansion also spawns an attack helicopter. When accompanied by the transport helicopter spawned at your team’s deployment area, the attack helicopter can help your team control the skies, laying waste to enemy vehicles and personnel. However, the attack helicopter isn’t indestructible. Watcout for Stingers. Stinger battle pickups are located near the Stilt House (B) and the Cartel Mansion (C). Use countermeasures and low-altitude flying to minimize your exposure to these missiles.

On Riptide, snipers are always a threat, especially if the opposing team controls the rooftop of the Cartel Mansion (C). So when operating outside, along the mansion’s perimeter, make sure you have a weapon capable of defending yourself. Sniper rifles, DMRs, and battle rifles equipped wit4X or 6X optics are all good choices. Engagement ranges reduce significantly when fighting in the mansion and Villa (E). Consider equipping a carbine, SMG, or shotgun for these close quarter firefights. Given the heavy vehicle traffic, get familiar witthe battle pickup locations. There’s an RPG by the Stilt House (A) and a SMAW on the Cartel Mansion’s (C) third floor. The mechanic’s grenade launcher is also effective for taking out vehicles.

Hold the mansion and you control the game. Better yet, hold its roof and control everything. —William Bordonaro, Quality Analyst
