Warzone Assault is an asymmetric game mode where one team plays as the attacker and the other as the defender. It’s up to the attacking team to attack and capture two Bases, one after the other, before launching a final assault on the defending team’s Home Base. The attacking team has six minutes to capture each Base; failing to capture a Base within the six-minute time limit gives the defending team a win. After capturing the second Base, the defending team’s Home Base is opened, requiring the attacking team to destroy its Core within six minutes. The attacking team can only win the match by destroying the opposing team’s Core, while the defending team simply needs to hold out for six minutes at any of the objectives.
In Warzone Assault, the attacking team must destroy the defending team’s Core to secure a victory.
Unlike in traditional Warzone, the emphasis is on attacking and defending a single objective at a time, focusing the 12-vs-12 combat on one relatively small geographical location. The time limit only intensifies the sense of urgency, pressing the attacking team to constantly advance. This can lead to some truly chaotic battles, with both teams clashing head on. With the exception of Marines serving as defenders, there are no AI-controlled enemies or Bosses—the only combatants are Spartans and their vehicles. Whether you’re attacking or defending, Warzone Assault rewards aggressive gameplay, but instead of being drawn into the linear nature of the battle, always look for opportunities to flank or attain a height advantage.
