Halo 5: Guardians eGuide Campaign Walkthrough Mission 5: Unconfirmed

Major Firefight: Apogee Station Base

Locating Blue Team won’t be easy, for Apogee Station is under heavy attack. A vast number of Crawlers and Soldiers threaten to overwhelm you just a short distance from the landing pad. Good thing Governor Sloan sent those extra men with you!

Recommended Loadout

The Battle Rifle and Magnum that Locke brings into this battle are worthy weapons for picking off the teeming Prometheans. As always, aim for headshots to bring down each construct in short order (especially the Crawlers). You can find another Battle Rifle on your way to the fight, which you may wish to give to a teammate. Several useful weapons are available once battle is joined.

You enter the battle from an elevated vantage 3. Remain on the entry platform and unload on the advancing Promethean horde. Additional ammo and weaponry can be found in the nook to the right, including Magnums, Frag Grenades, Assault Rifles, and a Hydra Launcher. Try to save the Hydra Launcher for a future encounter and make do with smaller arms.

There’s also a Chaingun Turret on the left, but don’t man it unless you intend to detach it by holding the Melee button—you’re far too exposed to the vast amount of enemy fire headed your way. Once it’s detached, you can wield the Turret while on the move. Use the Chaingun to mow down foes without having to rely on the Hydra.

Advance uphill when the battle shifts to your favor. Swap your Magnum for a Suppressor and use it to shred the last few Soldiers and Crawlers, prioritizing the Soldier Captain who bombards you with Splinter Turret fire from an elevated platform. Secure the area, then double back and swap your Battle Rifle for the Hydra Launcher. Top off your Suppressor ammo as well, or grab the SAW that’s stashed in the area’s far left corner. Grab the Splinter Turret left by the Soldier Captain as well, and be sure to give weapons to your teammates.

Legendary Strategy

Avoid using the Chaingun Turret when playing on Legendary—you need all the mobility you can muster. Even if you detach the turret, your movements will still be hampered, so exploit the ammo kits in the side nook to keep your weaponry topped off instead. Also, don’t advance up the hill, because Soldiers are better at sticking to cover on Legendary and will likely pick you apart. Instead, use the elevated walkway on the right 4 to press forward safely.

Head upstairs, moving toward Apogee Station’s roof. You’ll pass a UNSC weapon rack stocked with Shotguns and SMGs along the way 5. While facing the weapon rack, turn left and descend the nearby stairs. Use Artemis to detect a UNSC data pad on a nearby chair, then scan it for intel before making your way upstairs to the station’s roof.
