Objective: Escape the Guardian
Traveling through slipspace on the Guardian was surprisingly painless—getting off of the monstrosity is another matter. Fortunately, your mag boots make the effort possible. Sprint down the side of the Guardian, racing toward the planet below. Don’t stop for anything, because the Guardian’s form shifts under your feet, creating an unstable surface. Falling from this height would be fatal, even for a Spartan!
Legendary StrategySpeed is key during this mad dash down the Guardian on Legendary difficulty. Jump and thrust forward again and again, letting Genesis’s gravity pull you down toward it. Pause only when you’ve dropped from a “shelf” and can’t be targeted by enemies behind you, and then stop only long enough to recover your shields before leaping and thrusting onward. |
Hasten your trek down the Guardian by jumping and thrusting forward off of ramps formed by the Guardian, allowing Genesis’s gravity to pull you downward. Pick shots at the Crawlers and Soldiers that spawn while you’re airborne, but ignore them otherwise—they’re mere distractions. The Guardian’s form is changing so rapidly that stopping even briefly to fight could spell disaster. Just keep moving, sticking to the middle of the Guardian and leaping over gaps and obstacles as you go.
