Halo 5: Guardians eGuide Arena

Truth

Description: Augurs aboard the Undiminished Entelechy sought to unlock the Ring’s holy secrets from this control center.

Game Modes: Slayer, Capture the Flag, Strongholds

Truth is a symmetrical arena reminiscent of the classic, competitive maps from Halo 2. Because of its mix of close-quarter and long-range combat, fundamental skills and a balanced loadout are essential.

Featured Weapons and Power-Ups

Item Name Location Respawn Time
Energy Sword Carbine One 0:10
Plasma Caster Top Mid 2:00
Active Camo Pink Tower One 2:00

Starting Moves

  • With the rest of your team, make an aggressive push for the Active Camo at Pink Tower One. But expect heavy resistance here, as the opposing team is likely making the same move. Get eyes on the Active Camo from Red or Blue Street and rain down grenades on opponents attempting to grab the Active Camo. Rushing in will likely get you killed, so be patient and wait for an opening.
  • If you’re not running for the Active Camo, try to acquire the Energy Sword at Carbine One. Since most other players are clustered around Pink Tower One, you probably won’t face much resistance around the Energy Sword. Still, remain vigilant and be ready to open fire with your Assault Rifle.

Power Position: Pink Tower Two

How to Leverage

Pink Tower Two provides lines of sight on multiple high-traffic locations, including Top Mid and both bases. Hold here and use a Battle Rifle or the Covenant Carbine to assist your teammates from a distance. Also, the Active Camo spawns beneath the tower, making it important to control this side of the map—find a concealed corner and ambush opponents making a play for the Active Camo. This location also provides excellent cover, ideal for escaping incoming fire and grenades.

How to Counter

If the opposing team holds Pink Tower Two, act quickly to wrestle this positon away—but you’ll need some help. Using the Plasma Caster, bombard Pink Tower Two from Carbine Two or one of the windows at Blue Two or Red Two. This gives your teammates the opportunity to flank from Blue or Red Street, saturating Pink Tower Two with grenades. Even if you can’t secure a kill, a multi-pronged push toward Pink Tower Two with explosive weapons may be enough to rout your opponents.

Tactics

The Battle Rifles (at Red Two and Blue Two) and Covenant Carbine (found at Carbine Two) are the most effective long-range weapons on this map. When posted at Red or Blue Window, use them to engage traffic around Pink Tower.

When carrying the flag during Capture the Flag, jump and thrust out of the opposing team’s Window and then toss the flag toward Top Mid. From there you can grab the flag and jump into your base’s Window for a quick capture. Attempt this direct route only when three opponents are down.

If you sprint, jump, and thrust from your base’s Window, you can clamber onto Top Mid. This is a quick way to acquire the Plasma Caster at the start of a match. Or use this route to quickly access Pink Tower Two.

When patrolling Mid, jump off the pyramid-like structure and then jump and clamber up through the hole in Top Mid. From Top Mid you can quickly analyze and respond to any situation on the map. This is also a fast way to transition to Pink Tower Two or Carbine Two.

The orange transparent walls at Top Mid are not holograms—they can block incoming fire. But they can be destroyed with sustained fire. If opponents are hiding out at Top Mid, eliminate these orange barriers to deny them cover. The barriers regenerate over time.
