MISSION OVERVIEWMemory Type: Templar Conspiracy Suggested Level: 7 AssassinJacob Frye ChallengesDon’t kill any policemen Do not get detected by the target Rewards£: 3480 + 250 (Full Synch Bonus) XP: 4000 + 250 (Full Synch Bonus) Outfit: Blackguard’s Suit |
Location: St. Margaret’s, Westminster
You can start this memory by entering the marker at the top of St. Margaret’s church (1) in Westminster. The marker is at the top of the clock and bell tower. In the beginning of the mission, Jacob sits on the side of the bell tower strategizing his next move regarding Lord Cardigan, currently inside the House of Parliament.
Current Objective: Find the Earl of Cardigan
Challenge: Do not kill any policemen
Challenge: Do not get detected by the target
Jacob starts this Challenge by sitting on St. Margaret’s bell tower while studying the activity across the street around Big Ben and the House of Parliament. You have three tactical options with this memory: a Unique Kill Opportunity (A), a Stealth Opportunity (B), and an Assistance Opportunity (C). We use all three in our strategy and in the order they are introduced in the beginning of the memory.
Start by getting the password from the Minister (A) in the courtyard below Big Ben. This gives you a Unique Kill Opportunity on the Earl of Cardigan. Next, kidnap the corrupt policeman (B) in the same courtyard to stealthily gain entry into the House of Parliament without harming any policemen. Once inside, talk to a politician (C) to get an assistance opportunity allowing you to be guided to the door where the password is used.
Zipline to the rooftop of the House of Parliament and make your way to the lowest rooftop (balcony) in the southeast corner (2) of the Big Ben courtyard. Use Eagle Vision to spot the many policemen patrolling the area and to locate the Minister (A). Notice the policeman (D) patrolling under your balcony. This is your first target.
Location: House of Parliament Courtyard
Optional Objective: Steal Lord Cardigan’s Password
Drop down off the balcony when the policeman (F) near the middle of the courtyard is walking west and away from you on his patrol. Drop down and hide behind the south side of the second column in the hallway below the balcony to hide from the patrolling policeman (D) under the balcony. He stops just on the other side of this second column then walks north toward a second patrolling policeman (E) at the far end of the balcony hallway.
Knock out the cop (D) when he is walking past the next column so that none of the policemen, especially the closest one (F) see you or his body when you have dropped him. Only knock out the policemen; do not assassinate them or you fail the Challenge.
We also suggest you make the trek to the end of the Big Ben hallway to choke out the policeman (E) patrolling the far end. He could possibly see you steal the password from the Minister, which you will work on getting next.
With the two hallway patrols out of the way and while policeman (F) is walking away to the north, you can now move from behind a nearby column to approach the Minister (A) on the middle sidewalk when he walks north towards the fountain. Quickly come up behind him, acquire the Steal prompt, press and hold
/
until the Steal gauge fills and then quickly walk away, back under the column you just left to hide again.
Optional Objective: Kidnap the Corrupt Policeman
From behind a column under the balcony where you knocked out two policemen, wait for policeman (F) to walk north on the sidewalk he patrols. Come up behind him quickly before he gets too far north that the corrupt policeman sees and knock him out. You can leave him on the sidewalk.
After knocking out the policeman (F) sneak north along his sidewalk and cover behind the north side of the hedgerow that gives you a clear view of the House of Parliament’s north entrance and the patrolling Minister (G).
To kidnap the corrupt policeman, make your move when the policeman (G) walks away from the House of Parliament entrance and moves towards your hiding place behind the hedgerow and then turns north (right), continuing his patrol. Sneak around the end of the hedge and come up behind him and kidnap him.
Optional Objective: Reach Westminster Hall
Walk the corrupt policeman through the front entrance of the House of Parliament (6). Sometimes the guards at the door move far away from the entrance and sometimes they leave little room for you to get past them. Regardless, they move enough for you to slowly walk past them without your detection ring intersecting with their feet.
Location: House of Parliament Interior
Optional Objective: Follow the politician
Once inside Parliament, walk the policeman into the left corner and knock him out. Now walk up to the politician just a couple of yards away along the left wall. Talk to him and he has you follow him to Lord Cardigan’s office where you are to use the password you acquired.
As the politician heads to the south end of the hall you quickly notice a patrolling Brute (H) near some pews. You do not have the politician kidnapped so you currently have no stealth opportunity. If the Brute sees you, you instinctively run for cover into the open hallway (7) on the left. If you do this, you run right into a couple of patrolling Blighters. To deal with this issue, quickly throw a knife at the Brute’s (H) head to get rid of him.
Current Objective: Assassinate the Earl of Cardigan
Rejoin the politician at the north end of the room (open the Chest to the right of the hiding booth) and follow him as he enters the left (east) hallway (8). There is a Templar Brute in this hallway. Throw a knife or wait and sneak up behind him and assassinate him. Enter the room (9) at the end of this hallway and Double Assassinate the two Blighters standing next to each other with their backs to you.
Follow the politician into the north hallway (10) where you face four level 7 Templars. Use a smoke bomb and have fun eliminating the confused gang while the politician enters the hallway to the right (11).
In the hallway to the right is a mixture of level 7 and 8 Templars. There’s a total of six Templars in all. Throw a few smoke bombs during this battle. Eliminate them all. It’s fun. There are ways to do this stealthily using the hiding booth at the beginning of the hallway or by opening the exterior door on the left side of the hallway, but it’s much more fun just to have a big brawl and use your awesome fighting skills to own this crowd.
Loot all the bodies and continue to follow the politician to Cardigan’s Office (12). His office is at the end of the southeast hallway. There’s an intersecting hallway with Templars (to your right) that could be an issue. Either sneak past them when they are not facing your way or just eliminate them. But when you reach Cardigan’s office you must be anonymous to give the password. When you are anonymous and at the doorway, simply press the
/
button to give the password. Make sure you do not hold the button or you unlock the door and cancel your Unique Kill Opportunity.
Jacob gives the password: Balaclava. The guard opens the door and Jacob silently executes him then sneaks up behind the Earl of Cardigan, whose back is turned, preoccupied with something at a desk. Press the
/
button when prompted to assassinate the Earl using the Unique Kill Opportunity. Jacob gets no usable information out of the stubborn old man in the Animus white room and when you return from the white room you must escape the Houses of Parliament.
Current Objective: Escape the Houses of Parliament
When control returns to you, head for the Templar at the open door on the northwestern side of the office. Come up behind the Templar and silently assassinate him. There are three Templars guarding the door (13) to the left as you enter the hallway. Throw a smoke bomb and eliminate them.
Enter the chamber (9) (the hallway junction with the statue in the middle of the floor) these Templars were guarding and then head to the Entry Point you can see in the hallway to the right (10). Rope Launch to the rooftop of the building and travel along the rooftops to reach The Thames where you can exit the restricted zone and complete the mission.
