Darwin's Orchid

Location: Crane Bulkhead, The Thames

Charles Dickens Memories become available when you enter London in Sequence 3. Darwin’s Orchid is available after you complete the first of both Darwin’s and Dickens’ memories and only if you have pre-ordered the game. This is the first of the pre-order missions to unlock.

Follow the blue “D” (1) on the map to the bulkhead in The Thames with the two large cranes. This is off the shore of the City Of London. You can find Darwin standing near the east crane. A vital orchid specimen that helps validate Darwin’s theory of evolution is en route to London from Madagascar by boat. Darwin needs you to recover it. A rival colleague is collaborating with gang members and has been trying to ruin Darwin’s reputation. A gang of ruffians is trying to thwart his efforts by preventing the orchid’s safe delivery. They are on their way to intercept the orchid now.

Objective: Locate the orchid

Challenge: Reach the docks before the thugs

You have 1 minute and 36 seconds to make it to the docks (3) before the Blighters.

Jump from the dock (1), across the boats, and get to a bridge support so you can Rope Launch to the top of the bridge (2).

Run across the bridge for the green blip in the distance and hop over the other side of the bridge. Dive into the water or drop onto a boat and use the boats and floating objects to reach the destination marker on the bow of a parked boat (3).

Defeat the Blighters on the boat so you can search for the orchid safely.

Objective: Pick up the orchid

Use Eagle Vision to locate the glowing yellow briefcase under the stairs on this boat. Pick up the package (4).

Objective: Speak to Darwin

Challenge: Return to Darwin in a carriage

Get to the nearby bridge and hijack a carriage to meet the Challenge requirement. Now take the Orchid back to Darwin who is now standing on the sidewalk (5) near the memory start location. Speak to him to complete the memory.

Our Mutual Friend is available after you complete Darwin’s The Berlin Specimen and only if you have pre-ordered the game. You must also complete Darwin’s Orchid. Our Mutual Friend is the second of the pre-order missions to unlock.
