End Of The Line

Location: A Northwest Southwark Alley

Follow the Templar conspiracy icon on the map to a female Rook (1) leaning against a wall in a northwest Southwark alley. Start the memory here. She tells you that the stolen engines have just pulled into Waterloo. They’re going to unload the train once Starrick’s men arrive. Jacob’s plan is to make the train leave early.

Current Objective: Reach the Vantage Point

Location: Waterloo Train Station

When control returns to you, you can spot a large eagle icon representing the vantage point objective hovering near the top of the Waterloo Train Station. There is an Entry Point through an open skylight. Rope Launch to the rooftop and enter the train station through this open skylight (1). Drop down to the metal framework. The Vantage Point is located on the rafters just north of the window entrance.

Once in the Vantage Point, Jacob spots a Train Conductor below. This is a Stealth Opportunity (which means there’s a Challenge involved so you should do it). A cinematic focuses on a man being held against his will elsewhere in the station. Then we see none other than Pearl Attaway sitting comfortably behind a big desk in a plush, armored train car. However, in the cinematic she has an unfortunate label: Assassinate. Looks like she’ll be getting her comeuppance in this memory. Finally we are shown the Security Chief who offers a Unique Kill Opportunity.

Location: Waterloo Train Station Interior

When you look down from the vantage point you can spot the Train Conductor. He glows white when Eagle Vision is activated. Identify him and you learn that the advantage to speaking to him is his ability to create a big crowd event near your target, giving you more cover where and when needed.

Jump down off the rafters and speak to the conductor. Jacob says “I need to get to the central station.” The conductor says it won’t happen until he gets his train notices or he’ll say he gets his directions from the station chief, the figure you saw prone on the floor and in peril in the last cinematic.

Challenge Step: Steal the train schedule

Look around to the north while in Eagle Vision and you spot the station chief prone on a second story floor. This is where you are headed next. Use the Rope Launcher to return to the rafters and to get back to the rooftop through the same entry point (2) you used to get inside.

Once on the rooftop, run north to the glass rooftops on the north wing. Here you find two more open skylight Entry Points. Do not enter the closest one (3) as there are too many enemies below to enter stealthily. Instead, stand on the edge of the next closest Entry Point (4). Look below and wait for the Soldier to walk under you. Breach the building by using an Air Assassination on this Blighter.

The Train Schedule

After taking out the Soldier in the office, look around to spot the Train Schedule on a desk inside the same room. Take it. There’s also a Chest nearby. Next, activate Eagle Vision and find the remaining enemies in the next room. Use the large mail bin near the doorway as a cover (like a haystack) and whistle for the nearest guard in the next room. Cover Assassinate her when she enters your attack radius.

Challenge Step: Speak to the conductor

Freeing the station chief

There are two enemies remaining in the next room where the station chief is located. Throw a smoke bomb into the room and assassinate both the Blighters. And then “Free” the station chief who’s on the floor in the back of the room. This completes the first Challenge.

Now simply leave the office and walk down the stairs into the station and speak to the conductor again to give him the train schedule. The conductor now directs the large crowd of travelers to the central station, where all trains are reported to be diverted. You now see the crowd of people slowly making their way to the east side of the station to enter the central station, where Pearl is.

If you follow the crowd to the east a little ways you see Blighters guarding the entrance to the central station. Check out the next area using Eagle Vision. You spot many Blighters and the Security Chief in the distance. There’s a lot going on through those doors. We suggest taking a different route. This alternate route satisfies the last Challenge.

Using the Secret Passage

From where you spoke to the conductor, turn and face the north. You spot a distant Entry Point blip on the screen in the area below to the north. You’ll see a very large set of stairs leading to the street in the tunnel. Follow these stairs down to the street, cross it, and then rush and Double Assassinate the two blighters at the doorway leading back into another wing of the station.

Inside the room is a floor panel, which slides aside to reveal a hidden tunnel entrance in the floor. Enter this tunnel and follow it to a large clearing. Jump down to the lower level and continue following the open tunnel entrance on the opposite end.

Follow the lower tunnel to the right, hop over some low bars and enter another larger conduit area. Climb the wooden scaffolding on the left to reach the continuing tunnel on the second level. At the end of this tunnel is a ladder that leads up to the central station. Press / to open the manhole cover. Exiting the tunnel satisfies the final Challenge.

Assassinating Pearl Attaway

Unique Kill Opportunity: Steal the security chief’s blueprints

Now all that is left is to eliminate your target: Pearl Attaway. If you want to get the unique kill out of her assassination then you must hunt down the Security Chief on the upper balconies and steal his blueprints. A Blighter Soldier leans against a balcony support beam up out of the tunnel and about eight feet away. Come up behind him and assassinate him quietly.

From where the Blighter was standing, pivot to the east and enter the open train car. Head north through the car and exit the other end. This is to avoid the Watcher on the rooftop of the very next car. Continue through the next car the Watcher is patrolling on and exit the other end. Pull yourself up to the edge of the car’s rooftop and watch the Watcher. When her back is turned, get to the rooftop of the car and assassinate her.

From the top of the train car, Rope Launch to the rafters above and move around on the framework so you can Leap of Faith into the large mail bin below on the balcony walkway.

When the Security Chief walks up the stairs and passes you inside the mail bin, jump out and follow closely behind him while sneaking. When the “Steal” prompt appears, press and hold / until the gauge fills to successfully steal the blueprints to Pearl’s fortified train car. If you look at the plan closely before closing the message window you can see a window flaw being pointed out on the rooftop of her car. If you look in the direction of her car you can now see a glowing marker indicating the location of the Unique Kill Opportunity. Knock out the Security Chief so he doesn’t become a problem.

Killing Pearl Attaway (Unique Kill Opportunity)

Head to the south side of the balcony and stand over the two trains below. Shoot the Watcher on top of the train on the right with a dart or a knife. Also wait for a patrolling Soldier to walk into shooting range. He is on the loading zone walkway on the left side of the left train. Hit him with a dart or a knife.

Rope Launch to the rafters again. Move along the framework until you are directly above the Unique Kill Opportunity marker above Pearl’s fortified train car.

Drop from the rafters directly into the Unique Kill Opportunity marker on the rooftop of Miss Attaway’s train car. Jacob smashes through the window and Air Assassinates Pearl. In the Animus white room, Pearl says she was so devoted to her business. She expresses with her dying breath that she doesn’t want to lose her busses.

Current Objective: Escape with the train

In order to secure the stolen engines and make sure they do not end up with Starrick, you must now leave the area but take the train with you. Simply start running from Pearl’s car heading north through the attached cars until you reach the engine where you see a glowing Reach marker engulfing the train brake. Pull the brake to get the train moving and to complete the mission.

Location: Crawford Starrick’s Office

In the Sequence 5 ending cinematic, Starrick plays the piano and sings “Then You Will Remember Me” a John McCormack song from Balfe’s The Bohemian Girl in the year 1916. A guard enters the room and Crawford shoots him dead for disturbing him. Next Lucy Thorne enters and they discuss the Frye twins and the death of his close friend, Pearl Attaway. He promises that Evie will hang from the gallows and he will personally flay Jacob when he comes to save her.
