Cargo Hijack

Cargo Hijacking is simple: get in, get the cargo, and get out. There are static Cargo Hijack Activities that can be played once only in each of the land-based Boroughs.

However, there is also a chance that you find a random Cargo Carriage with Blighters at the helm. These do not have a level suggestion and the reward is much lower. The non-static Cargo Hijacks appear frequently, allowing you to gain more Influence with Ned Wynert, while providing you with bits of resources and money. The resource reward can be viewed by hovering over the Icon on the map.

Securing the Cart

There are multiple ways to secure the cargo carriage that is being guarded by the Blighters. While a stealth approach is possible, the more action oriented “smash and grab” technique speeds up completion drastically while offering the same rewards.

The Stealth Approach

Seek the highest ground near the restricted area, using Eagle Vision to scout it out. Look for enemies that are either between you and the cart, or enemies that you have to get through once you have the cart secured. In most cases all of the enemies in the area need to be eliminated, and unlike strongholds, there aren’t usually many Blighters lining the roofs.

When killing enemies from a rooftop, be extra careful not to raise the alarm of any remaining enemies. If they are alerted and you are not near them, they grab the cart and begin to drive away. If the enemy drives off with the cart, the mission does not end until they gain enough distance from you to count as a failure.

Smash and Grab

If the Cargo Carriage is in a courtyard, use your zipline to line yourself up with the carriage. Once you are above the carriage, drop down and quickly take the driver’s seat. Throw a smoke bomb down to immediately send your horses running, and obscure the view of any enemies that are close by.

For carts that are in a lumberyard or outdoor area not surrounded by buildings, scout the area, finding the fastest way to get to the cart. This often requires jumping a fence. Once you have your route set, free run as fast as you can to get inside. Jump into the driver’s seat, throw a smoke bomb, and get the heck out of there.

Smoke Them Out

If you’ve got a carriage of your own, line yourself up so you are blocking a nearby exit. Hop on top of your carriage and then throw a smoke bomb at the horses leading the cargo cart. This causes the horses to run off by themselves. Then all that’s left is to chase the cart down.

Once you’ve caught up to the cart, either cut it off, forcing it to stop, or jump from the roof of your carriage, landing on the cart and then taking the driver’s seat.

The Delivery

Once you have the cart in your possession, follow the GPS to the Rook’s drop off location. On the way you may attract the unwanted attention of some Blighters who try and stop you from stealing their cargo.

Keep going toward the drop off point. Although you cannot drop off the cargo until you are incognito, the nearby Rooks help you kill off any Blighters who dared follow you the entire way there.

If you have a cart on your tail when you pull up, use a Smoke Bomb to frighten the horses of the other cart, forcing them to pull the enemy away and masking your location which, in most cases, makes you incognito instantly and allows you to deliver the cargo immediately.
