Upgrade Your Firearm

We strongly recommend that you upgrade your firearm before starting this mission to give Evie an extra edge in the coming battles.

Location: Train Hideout

The Crate Escape memory icon is located on the desk in the last car on the Train Hideout.

In the opening cinematic, Jacob teases Evie about her artifact hunt commenting that she sounds just like their late father. She responds, “If only.” She thinks more highly of her father’s quest than Jacob. Evie points to a picture of Lucy Thorne on the desk. Thorne is expecting a shipment tonight. Evie is certain that she is receiving the Piece of Eden Sir David Brewster mentioned.

Current Objective: Search the Templar Chest

Location: City of London, Near The Thames Waterfront

The mission begins on location (you do not need to travel to the site). Evie stands on the rooftop (1) of a large warehouse overlooking Lucy Thorne as she receives the shipment personally. She follows a Brute inside to fill out some of Starrick’s paperwork. The Chest, believed to contain a Piece of Eden, is inside the cart under heavy guard, but out of Lucy’s sight.

Before you move from your perch, scan the area all around you with Eagle Vision active. You mark a Soldier directly below you and a couple of cops patrolling the street below (they stay some distance away from the cart). Further ahead near the cart with the Chest you can mark four enemies until you can get closer. Jacob mentioned taking out the snipers, but don’t count on him. You won’t be able to spot those until you get nearer to the cart.

Eliminate everyone to get to the Chest safely. Begin by dropping down to a small wooden plank sticking out of the west side of the building you are on. Perform an Air Assassination on the Soldier below. Rope Launch back to the same rooftop corner afterward.

Helix Glitch

From the edge of the original rooftop, shoot the Rope Launcher at the top of the boat mast (2). There’s a Helix Glitch floating just in front of the boat. So once you are on the mast, shoot a rope to the rooftop of the building across the street and just zipline far enough to acquire the Helix Glitch and then return to the top of the boat mast.

Zipline west to the edge (3) of the next rooftop, above the hanging barrels. When the Brute (C) walks away from the Soldier (A) that stands her ground at the boat yard entrance, drop down from the edge of the rooftop and Air Assassinate the Soldier. Duck back around the corner of the building to avoid the Brute’s sight. Rope Launch back to the rooftop of the same building.

From the northeast edge of the rooftop, search for all the enemies using Eagle Vision. You find two Watchers (B & E) on high balconies to the west. Eliminate these two first from the group around the cart. Look across the street to see two Soldiers (H & I) at the mouth of an alley and a Brute (G) leaning on a door in the alley (behind some crates). These are optional kill opportunities. You just need to inspect the crate on the cart anonymously, so just clearing the snipers and the few around the cart is the bare minimum you have to do.

Optionally, you could take out the enemies, two Soldiers (H & I) around a barrel fire in an enclosed yard, on the outer region next. Zipline from your rooftop corner to the corner of the building (4) near them so that the line passes right over them. Zip down the line and Air Assassinate one Soldier and then quickly quiet the second before your cover is blown.

By now the Brute (C) has returned on his patrol route to the area of the hanging barrels where you dispatched the second Soldier (A). Get back to the rooftop (4) and zipline to the corner of the previous building (3) and perform an Air Assassination on the Brute while he remains around the boatyard entrance. Eliminate him and duck around the corner inside the boatyard once more.

Out of Throwing Knives?

Search on the map for the nearby street vendor (Shop). There is one just behind the building (3). Purchase knives from this vendor (5) if you are low. You may need them for the next few assassinations before you get to the Chest in the cart.

Get back up onto the rooftop and walk to the northern edge (6) so that you are standing over the Watcher (B) on the balcony below. Throw a knife at the head of the Watcher (E) on the balcony across the street. Now look down and position yourself for an Air Assassination on the Watcher (B) below you.

From the Watcher’s (B) ledge below you can study the movements of the Soldiers across the street. One Soldier (D) remains standing around a barrel fire facing away from the patrolling Soldier (F). Zipline above this patrolling Soldier and Air Assassinate him (F). From his porch, hide behind the stair rail and whistle for the Soldier (D) warming near the barrel fire. Cover Assassinate this thug when she climbs the stairs.

You could enter the cart now and avoid killing the three remaining Blighters (G, H & I) in the alley. If you want to kill them all, get on the rooftop above them and perform a double Air Assassination on the two Soldiers standing at the alley’s entrance (H & I). The Brute (G) does not see you as he leans against a wall behind a stack of crates. Take him out from behind the crates by whistling and Cover Assassinating him.

Now enter the cart in the middle of the street and open the crate. Inside the crate is a book. In a cinematic, Lucy Thorne and the Brute come running out of the building witnessing Evie and Jacob stealing her cargo. Jacob takes the reins and Evie remains in the back of the cart to protect the Chest.

Current Objective: Defend the Templar Chest

Your job is to shoot all pursuing Blighters and dispatch any that make it into the cart with you, while being chased by multiple horse-and-carriage pursuers.

Watch the Stealth Ring around your body. It points to the direction of the nearest enemy. As soon as you see an enemy, begin shooting. The trick is to use the Quickshot since aiming the gun and hitting your target is nearly impossible while being thrown around in the back of the speeding carriage. So press the / button to shoot. You don’t even have to aim. Jacob helps shoot enemies occasionally and he also throws you more ammo when you run out of bullets, so get trigger-happy. Keep an eye out for the prompt above your head to duck bullets. When it appears, mash the button to avoid being shot.

Current Objective: Jump on the Train

The battle continues at a very intense pace all the way up to the point when Jacob reaches the destination (7). Regardless of how many enemies are still living or attacking, stop everything and jump out of the cart and hop up onto the bridge railing to enter the Reach marker. You have 10 seconds to get from the cart to the marker or you are desynchronized. Evie and Jacob leap to the roof of their train and wave goodbye to the Blighters.
