Assassin's Creed Syndicate eGuide The Essentials

Vehicles and Driving

Carriages line the streets in London. Different styles of carriages have varying levels of Speed, Handling, and Damage Resistance. Keep in mind that this is London, so driving should be done on the left side of the street.

Driving

Although the carriages have different stats, they all are controlled with the same basic controls:

  • Press / to enter or hijack a vehicle. If there are two people in the vehicle, and the passenger is not a civilian, they may try to shove you out. To avoid this issue, jump to the top of the vehicle and assassinate both the driver and passenger.
  • To Accelerate, press and hold R2 / RT; to slow down and stop or reverse, use L2 / LT.
  • Use Left Stick to control the direction of the carriage.
  • Press / to give your carriage a temporary speed boost. This action is infinitely repeatable, but the effect does not stack.
  • Ram other carriages by pressing / and pushing Left Stick in the direction you would like to ram. If you are in a smaller vehicle you may want to try to outmaneuver the enemy carriages instead of ramming them as chances are your vehicle will get destroyed very quickly.
  • To climb onto the roof, press L1 / LB. The Carriage continues to be led down the road by the horse until you switch back into the driver’s seat by pressing / , or jump off to the ground or onto another carriage.

Vehicles

Each Carriage has different stats. Larger carriages are faster and have more durability, but lack handling. Smaller carriages are able to maneuver through tight gaps and around corners. However, they are not as durable or fast as the bigger carriages.
