Assassin's Creed Syndicate eGuide The Essentials

Key Abilities

Eagle Vision

Eagle Vision is an Assassin’s sixth sense. It allows you to spot enemies, allies, and hidden objects. Eagle Vision can be improved in the skill menu by purchasing the Eagle Vision II and III skills.

Press L3 / Left Stick in to toggle Eagle Vision on or off. It remains on until you deactivate it or perform certain actions such as pressing R2 / RT.

While using Eagle Vision, different elements are highlighted in the world and on your Mini-Map:

  • Memory Objectives are highlighted in Gold.
  • Hiding places and useful objects (Explosives, Alarm Bells, etc.) are highlighted in white.
  • Enemies are highlighted and appear on the Mini-Map as red.
  • Police are highlighted and appear on the Mini-Map as blue.

Allies are highlighted and appear on the Mini-Map as green.

Assassinations

Assassinations kill enemies in a single strike. Different types of assassinations offer advantages and disadvantages. For example, while an Air Assassination may be quick, it is easily noticed by the enemies. For example, it takes the assassin a moment to get up, after performing an Air Assassination. This could potentially allow other enemies to get close.

A target can only be assassinated when they are highlighted in red and the assassination button is shown in the Puppeteer.

Low Profile Assassination

While anonymous, press / to assassinate an enemy from up close. Low profile assassinations are silent and create no commotion as long as you remain unseen while assassinating your target. The dead body, however, does attract some attention.

High Profile Assassination

You can assassinate while in High Profile mode (while running holding R2 / RT), but doing so creates noise and causes a commotion around your target.

Air Assassination

When positioned above a target, press / to assassinate them from above. This causes you to leap off of your perch, landing on top of the target. This creates a lot of commotion, as well as penalizing you with a slow recovery from the attack.

Ledge and Cover Assassinations

When hanging from a ledge, a window, or while hidden, press / to assassinate the target. This pulls them out of the window or over the ledge, leaving them on the ground below.

Double Assassinations

Double Assassinations are unlocked in the Skill Menu. When two enemies are close to one another and both are highlighted red, you can perform a Double Assassination. Double Assassinations are available for Low Profile, High Profile, and Air Assassinations.

Rope Launcher

Whenever the Rope Launcher icon appears overhead, press L1 / LB to fire the launcher and travel quickly upwards. If the Rope Launcher target appears on an adjacent building in front of you, press L1 / LB to zipline across.

While ziplining, control your speed using the Left Stick. You can position yourself over enemies then press / to drop down for Air Assassinations. This is incredibly useful for taking out enemy sentries who are guarding Chests or other restricted areas.

Hold R2 / RT when you reach the end of the zipline to transition into free running without losing momentum.
