Bonfire—Anor Londo

Climb the towers at the far side of Irithyll to reach Anor Londo. This new area begins at the Anor Londo Bonfire, which doesn’t take long to explore as long as the powerful enemies here don’t kill you off again and again.

A Silver Knight is on the stairs as you go up. Like all of his kind, he’ll use lightning to deal extra damage and wound you a bit despite the blocking you might do. Play offensively against the Silver Knights; they’re hard to dodge and bait, so attack first and hit aggressively.

A second one comes down the stairs a little while after you engage his comrade. If at all possible, go crazy on the initial knight so that you can kill or badly wound him before he gets support from his ally.

To the east, there is another pair of Silver Knights. Shoot at range to soften them, and focus your damage on one of them specifically if you end up in battle with both. The sooner one goes down, the sooner this becomes a manageable fight.

You can’t get into the central building initially. The path to the west wraps around the area and lets you get inside. After that, you can unlock the door and go back and forth at your leisure.

A lone Silver Knight patrols the western walkways. Pull him from range, and dispatch him. The building he’s guarding has the Giant’s Coal inside, so you gain another upgrade for the Blacksmith. When you’re inside, take the stairs up so that you can get into the main building.

Deacons of the Deep are on the walkways and the main floor of the central building. To have any peace, you need to kill them; otherwise, ranged Pyromancy spells fly in your direction on a constant basis. Roll under these, approach your victims, and lay them low without mercy.

There are also Writhing Rotten Flesh in the room, but they’re easily avoided when you have more pressing matters to attend to. Sprint around them as you kill the Deacons of the Deep. Stay on the lookout for an Estus Shard on the western side of the room.

Use a crank to the east of the door to open it. The run from the Bonfire to the boss is now a quick one. A Deep Accursed leaps from the shadows to punish your transgression. Its blows have a Curse effect, but that won’t normally be an issue as long as you dodge and counterattack aggressively. It’s also a one-time spawn. The Deep Accursed drops Aldrich's Ruby.

It’s dark inside that building, so you might have better luck if you draw the Deep Accursed out onto the stairs. It’s easier to bait the monster’s attacks when you can see it clearly.

Slay the creature, and with that, you’re ready. Rest if needed, and then go after Aldrich! Although it’s risky, you can avoid both Silver Knights and all of the Deacons of the Deep when you’re making runs from the Bonfire to the boss. Sprint quickly, and don’t stop for anything. You still have to roll to avoid the Silver Knights’ parting shots, but you end up saving Estus Flasks with very little practice.

The fight against Aldrich begins almost instantly, as you enter the fog gate and are beset by this dedicated spellcaster. This is what it means to face off against someone who has really mastered the ancient arts of sorcery. If you've finished the fight and have pursued Leonhard's quest line, return here after your victory. Use the Black Eye Orb to invade Leonhard. For doing all of this, you find the Sun Princess Ring, Soul of Rosaria, the Crescent Moon Sword, and a Silver Mask.
