Headless Gargoyle

There are only a few Headless Gargoyles in the Profaned Capital. You also face them (with heads) in the Grand Archives.

Headless Gargoyles, if approached carefully, are often solitary targets. They have a lot of health and take damage well; they also choose their spots to attack you well. You never get to fight them on good ground. It’s usually on a ledge or bridge, and dodging is very risky in those situations.

To defeat Headless Gargoyles, try to finish the fight quickly. Buff your Attack Power as much as you can (go into two-handed mode, switch to your most damaging weapon, use a weapon enchant, etc.). Trade with the Headless Gargoyle so that you kill it quickly and without much movement. Though costly, this is a better method then staying mobile and risking a lethal fall.

Monstrosity of Sin

Several Monstrosities of Sin are lurking in a temple, on the eastern side of the capital. Each one has massive health. Although they are very slow, their attacks cover ground well and are very punishing.

No matter what position these targets get into, assume that they can flop, roll, or otherwise leap on top of you. As soon as they start moving, dodge backward and wait for them to whiff before resuming your attacks. Getting grabbed by one of these foul foes is extremely damaging and drains your Souls.

Jailer Handmaid

Jailer Handmaids guard the hallway before you reach the boss of the Profaned Capital. They have a cursing gas attack, fire attacks at range, and are seen in high numbers. Use hit-and-run tactics to thin their numbers and escape. Each Jailer Handmaid is easy to kill, but you die if you stick around and try to get the entire group in attempt. To avoid this, pick a target or two, rush in to kill them, and then dash out of the area.
