Small Shields

Lightweight Small Shields most commonly have the Parry skill on them, and require very little in the way of attributes. This makes them ideal for Dex focused fencer style characters, and casters who aren’t concerned about outright blocking all attacks.

Parrying can be very difficult as a new player, so don’t feel that you need to attempt parries on every attack in the game. It’s absolutely a skill worth learning though, and a vital one if you plan on participating in PvP heavily.

Buckler

A very small round metal shield.

It features a large central protrusion designed for parrying attacks.

The unique swordsmanship of the Watchers does not normally allow for the use of shields.

Torch

A simple, makeshift torch made from an oily rag wrapped around the end of a stick.

Torches such as these are the easiest way to illuminate one’s surroundings, but their use comes at the cost of occupying a hand that would otherwise be free.

Can be used as a rudimentary weapon to inflict fire damage. It possesses no Skill, being an ordinary, basic tool.
