Ludleth of Courtland

Ludleth is one of the Lords of Cinder. He sits on top of his throne, in the Firelink Shrine. Talk to him early on to see how the small but ominous fellow is doing.

Once you kill the Curse-rotted Greatwood, you should return to Ludleth and give him the Transposition Kiln that you receive from that boss. This lets Ludleth turn the special souls that you get from bosses into special items. Many are weapons, but spells and rings are in that bunch as well! If you don’t see things that you like, you can still convert the boss’ materials into Souls later to try and buy others things or to raise your level.

If you kill Ludleth, you get the Skull Ring (it makes you easier to detect). Ludleth returns from the dead, and he takes the whole thing in stride.

Should you progress Anri’s storyline far into the game, he will leave Anri’s Straight Sword with Ludleth for you to retrieve.
