Grand Archives Scholar
Many Grand Archives Scholars are inside the archives. They’re normal casters when you’re at long range, but they have a good trick if you get closer. These enemies spray you with wax, making it impossible to dodge for a short time. Instead, you wiggle in place and lose mobility while they cast spells at you.
First off, avoid the wax entirely. This is the best way to survive and kill them. Long-range shots work well because Grand Archives Scholars have low health. But, melee attacks are fine if you get in and score kills very quickly.
Second, walk away if you get wax onto your character. Don’t try to dodge or fight in this state. Walk toward cover, heal if you need to, and come out once the wax fades.
Gertrude’s Knight
Gertrude’s Knights are the nastier versions of the Winged Knight. Tougher and harder hitting, they are still ponderous foes… until they take to the sky with their angelic wings!
Avoid their dangerous sweeping blows and holy magic. Use the available terrain to pick them off or back away as needed. There’s plenty of open space where you encounter these winged knights, so make use of it.
