The Fire Keeper lives in the Firelink Shrine. She’ll allow you to spend Souls to improve your character. Talk to her to learn a bit more about her purpose, but don’t try to harm her. When slain, she’ll simply return. If you perform an emote in front of the Fire Keeper, she may respond with a gesture of her own. Try them all...
Choices, Choices
The Fire Keeper can be given Eyes of a Fire Keeper and the Soul of a Fire Keeper. The Soul is found on the tower above the shrine. Buy the Tower Key from the Shrine Handmaid , unlock the tower, and follow that route up to get the Fire Keeper Soul. Give the Fire Keeper that soul; she gains the power to remove the Dark Sigil from you. This costs many Souls, but can be done at any time as long as you can afford it.To get the Eyes of a Fire Keeper look up the Untended Graves section of the Walkthrough . Go to that area and search for a hidden door in that region (it’s in the spot where Irina would be if you were in the real Firelink Shrine).
To use the Eyes of a Fire Keeper, talk to the Fire Keeper and give them to her. Talk to her twice afterward to hear everything about them. Then, talk to the Fire Keeper again when you’re at the end of the game. She’ll say to summon her instead of Linking the First Flame.
Beat the final boss normally, and then approach the First Flame (the Bonfire that appears). Instead of lighting it, look for a white summoning sign on the group. Use that sign to summon the Fire Keeper and get the dark ending to the game, or summon and attack her when you regain control for an alternate ending.
Until you actually do all of this, you can change your mind. Slaying the Fire Keeper lets you take the Eyes back, preventing the alternate ending from occurring. Also, Linking the First Flame gets you the standard ending even if you’ve given the Fire Keeper her eyes.
