Dark Souls III Guide (Steam) › Equipment › Melee Weapons

Halberds

Probably the most unusual class of weapons in the game, Halberds mix the reach of a Spear with the striking and slashing motions of Axes or Hammers.

Halberds tend to have fairly demanding attribute requirements, moderate weights, and an awkward move set, all of which makes them relatively unfriendly to new players.

However, they do offer a mix of reach and sweeping area blows that few other weapons can match, and while they are ungainly weapons to use, they still have reasonably good speed for the moves that they offer. Halberds are also fairly easy to use against very large enemies, where their swing patterns are all but guaranteed to connect with ease.

Appropriate for their mixed heritage, they offer a wide range of weapon skills, taking a little from Hammers, Spears, and Axes.
