ATAD
Personal flying drone with advanced AI. Automatically fires at enemy soldiers, and possesses a grenade-destroying Trophy system.
Strategy
ATADs are completely self-sufficient fly drones. They will deploy into the battlefield and hunt and seek nearby enemies. The ATADs are capable of killing an enemy all on their own. They also highlight enemies in the field, making it easier for you to spot enemies that are hiding in cover.
By default, you can deploy up two ATADs at once. However, you can get an upgrade to allow for up to four.
Hacking Device
Advanced hacking software integrated into a soldier’s helmet visor. Able to give the user full control over C6 robots.
Strategy
Hacking Devices are indispensible in the campaign mode of Infinite Warfare. Used on SDF drones, they give you full control of the drone, allowing you to execute melee attacks, fire shots, and self-destruct—all behind enemy lines.
When you hack a robot, use melee attacks instead of firing. This ensures that it takes the enemy a longer time to realize they have a rogue robot behind enemy lines. When you are done with the robot, hit the Lethal attack to self-destruct and kill any nearby enemies.
An upgraded version of the Hacking Device allows you to hack the extremely tough C8 drones. If you earn this upgrade, it makes several levels much easier to complete (in particular the last mission of the game).
Retractable Shield
Suit-powered personal shield that quickly expands from the user’s arm. Limits shooting ability, but stops most ballistic weapons.
Strategy
The Retractable Shield is one of the best pieces of tech to be found in Infinite Warfare. If you hold down the Tactical button, you deploy a shield directly ahead. The shield can absorb all rounds directly ahead including grenade blasts. This makes it ideal for tough combat situations. You can also use it to charge enemies and press the Melee button to deploy a lethal attack at melee range.
If all that wasn’t good enough, the shield can also be used to detect nearby enemies. When using the shield, it regularly sends out a pulse that lights any enemies in the direction you are looking with a red outline. This includes enemies in cover.
The Retractable Shield is vital for Veteran difficulty. It can be used to make an extremely difficult situation easy. It can also save your life if you take a large amount of damage and there is no cover nearby.
Foam Wall
Fast deploying foam wall will create a temporary barrier against bullets and other damage.
Strategy
The Foam Wall is a simple piece of equipment, but it can be effective when advancing on the enemy when you have poor cover. Hiding behind the foam wall protects you from all incoming fire. Be warned, though, if the wall takes too much damage, or too much time goes by, it will quickly dissipate, leaving you in the open.
